  • Evening everyone :hello:

I've been potting away though I've lost count of how much now. Most of the money that's been going in has been leftovers from my grocery budget but I've managed to snaggle some roadkill in there to :)

Well done as always Chutney! :)

Hi Potters! I hope everyone enjoyed the weekend, yesterday also. Talk about bitterly cold!! To all those with colds, coughs etc, get well soon and have these {{{{hugs}}}} to help you through.

Oh dear Jakes-mum, totally unlike you to be dropping money and not finding it, but that's a thing that could happen to any of us. Don't worry about it and instead focus on the good things. At least you made £10 on the sale of your ceiling light and DH brought you home cash treasures! :T More than that you have so much to keep you excited in such a huge way as you look forward to To your Disney World holiday, focus on that as it's something terrific to look ahead to!! It seems to me that although you will still have that epic years total, it just won't the usual huge declaration day count up and, as you say, most of it will be in notes which I know for you, and me, wouldn't be quite so thrilling as normal with mounds of cash on the table, but as I say - focus on the holiday - the all important thing!!! If that doesn't give you tingles from your head to your toes then I'd be shocked!! :D
Ah, so Vicky and I can definitely climb aboard to jet away with you, splendid!! :j:j Good luck in tracking down the game, you just might get lucky.

I bet you thoroughly enjoyed the Christmas market yesterday, 32b3, I've never been to one yet but would love to one day, such exciting places from all I've heard! It sounds as though your holiday in Florida was amazing, jakes-mum has a great deal to look ahead to. On topic! Very good savings, I almost forgot that part, you did brilliantly! :o

I can see what kept you up so late then, Saver-upper, it was thoughts of all that cash you had to pot and I don't blame you either though I think leaving the £25 cash until daylight hours was a wise decision! You're doing extremely well with your Pinecone surveys, long may the extra ones last!!
Now, onto Potting news....I've been Potting quite a bit of Silver....and the odd gold coin...no notes yet but that WILL come...but I'd rather start slowly than have to take it back out...I think that was my mistake in other Years...so this Year I'm taking it slowly until I'm sure that I can leave it in my Pot until next November....

Hiya Helen! Your words summed up a funeral and family care in a nutshell, the celebration that you were blessed to have your Granddad in your life, but now he's in safe hands, it's the family you need to be caring for, yourself included! Do what you think will benefit you most savings wise,
You're being very wise with your savings thoughts. Also I guess if you get times when you might be hard up the knowledge of having quite a bit in your pot might be a bit of a pull to easing the situation whereas it wouldn't be if you knew it wouldn't be a great help, if that makes sense. Do it in the way you think best Helen! :D Well potted!

Not to worry MrsC....tobe, at least you remembered us eventually! You sound exactly like me with your different pots for each coin denomination, and why not! ;)
I hope you enjoyed all the buzz and fervour of the Christmas market and you'll have a truly amazing time in Italy!! See you soon.

Another Euro safely potted for you, muppets!

Flipping heck your doing well with saving, hummingbird, going great guns! Good luck saving the £5 notes! :D

I'm glad you've bought your pot, Louby, you've already got good savings for it. Christmas is always a difficult time to be saving specific amounts but look forward to things picking up after this expensive time of year is over. At least you're aware of what you need to be saving monthly in order to hit your target. ;)

Hi mossy and how good are you in saving cash that could otherwise be down the drain (or similar!) if you'd spent on drink. :T I hope you all enjoyed your meal and evening!

Another of us being hit by needing to overspend then, Florence. You're doing wise in hanging onto that £10er, far better to play it safe!

NSDs are always a bonus, indigowarrior, but at least that 3p is a gain for you! Potting your bonus is a great idea! :D

Aha, yet another to have saved cash on refraining from buying food/drink out then, Antomac, far better to have it secure in your pot any day!! :j
Yes, difficult times at the moment but being careful before this Christmas will give us far more to spend next year! Save well my potty lot!!!!

Don't worry Miss D M, if we don't hear from you for the next week we'll rest assured you're playing safe with NSDs to help you save again at the weekend! You're doing excellently by the way as your brother knows only too well, so take note of his advice!! :rotfl:

It looks as though you're going to have your work cut out with your little boy, Hicksy! Good to hear your pots are filling up fast, keep up the good work.....both of you!! :A

So you're yet another plastic £5 saver, 12 month challenge; the banks are going to be bewildered when, instead of sooooo much change being handed over in November, it'll be hundreds if not thousands of £5ers too. What's the betting they believe you're all possessed with a Churchill fetish!!! ;)

    Keep it coming parksandrec!

Excellent work swimminginaseaofdebt, isn't it amazing just how much you're able to save by simply potting change from shopping which I'm guessing would normally have got frittered away! :D
Enjoy a fair Tuesday, Potters. Keep safe and healthy and feed those pots well! :D

    I have potted £29 today!
Because I don't,as a rule, work over the school holidays,I am starting to seee some of my customers for the last time until 2017 .
    One customer today,who,at 88yo has never got the hang of online banking,paid me in cash,the usual amount,plus a £5 tip.£29 in all,including 2x£2 coins,and a new £5 note.I told him I don't spend £2 coins,but collect them in a tin.It wouldn't surprise me now if,next time,he pays me in £2 coins.Well,I hope he remembers I said I collect £2 coins,and not 2p coins :rotfl:.All I need is to be paid every fortnight in 2p pieces :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:.
