Hi SPCer folks! Yes, we had a really wonderful holiday, the weather might not have been up to much but we can't do much about that sadly. So many thanks to you all for keeping the thread running so well yet again.
To all those members feeling poorly or who are low in spirits in any way, I do hope you all get well very very soon. Very best wishes and {{{{hugs}}}} to you all. :grinheart

Very many thanks Bubbs and well done in knowing that the only way with your weight is....forward!!!!

Thanks a lot 32b3, the holiday helped us all no end. Ah bless your Nephew, though I understand what you mean as our middle Grandson is exactly the same...at 19!!!! Excellent savings btw! You mentioned the C word and we're hardly into August yet!!!! Then you say you're half way through buying your presents - already??!!!!!!! I wish I'd even started! :(

Many thanks jakes-mum, we enjoyed it very much, tired now due to putting too much into it but it was great!
So you're all dollared up as you put it. I don't know when your holiday is but be sure to have a fantastic and very memorable time! Congratulations with your PPL win!!!!

What a thoughtful chap your 0H is, Florence! Let's hope he keeps it up, bless him!

Thanks a lot Mossie, we had a brilliant time thank you. It might only have been a little shrapnel but it's potted!

    Fantastic potting moneymanager!! :D

Very well done Dragon Lily and little wonder the pot's getting heavy, great though eh!!!

Hiya Lynne! Yes thanks we had a wonderful time, a bit tired now as we packed so much into it, great though!
I share your sentiments about the tennis but have been catching up with the sport. Well done with your regularly potted £10ers!!!!

We had a great time thanks Hicksy, and no illness for myself or my DD! Your little Jack sounds a right little comic! I love that name btw!
Good luck in getting your OH to pot cash too, and in getting your "hoped for" sum!

Aha you've had a holiday too then, siju, glad you enjoyed it. You still feed your Son?? :rotfl:He sounds a right gannet just like mine!
Likewise with the "no cash saved", that's the trouble with holidays!

So another month begins eh, Lost, and on you come with all you've potted in the last! Brilliant news and savings!!!! :T

I raided my bro's wallet at the weekend and it turns out it's practically a breeding ground for pot money! One £20 note and a bit of shrapnel later and I had helpfully relieved him of 23 brand spanking new £1 coins! I know, what more could you want in a big sister!?

    £1.13 potted today.
A guy I work with was emptying his pockets and threw a 1p on the floor. He looked at me as if I was crazy when I picked it up and pocketed it so I just told him "every little helps" and walked away with a smile.

Re your first post DancingUnicorn. Never ever feel daft about picking up roadkill because if you don't someone else well! ;) Which reminds me I picked up 34p roadkill while we were on holiday, mostly it was from the amusement arcades, it's surprising how much people leave there - though I wasn't disappointed!!! :D I've been saving roadkill in a separate pot for about 5yrs and must count it soon!! Nice work with the Tesco receipts!! Yippee with the £60 saved from NSDs!!!!!! :j Re your 2nd post: The times SPC members have said they've seen people throw shrapnel on the ground is amazing so it's no great surprise that your work mate did the very same! I'm just so pleased you were there to retrieve it!!!! He needs a lesson in money handling! :naughty:

Very well done Dragon Lily and little wonder the pot's getting heavy, great though eh!!! :D

Congratulations on your PPL win, 3forholidays!!!! :T Really chuffed for you!

Very well done on your roadkill finds, Antomac!!! :D I'm not fussy on football but I hope you really enjoy the season!

Have a wonderful time in London, MrsShazbat, and I really hope you get chance to see the WAC!!!

Congratulations on your PPL win, 3forholidays!!!! Really chuffed for you!

    Morning everyone.
All the holiday talk has me dead jealous as I have already taken mine. So I'll be eager to hear all the stories from your travels to keep me going.
Really tight month so I didn't pot anything until after payday. And then I was so eager to get the coins in the pot I didn't even count what was going in. How daring is that.
    Happy August
    MissDM

Not to worry at not having counted your potting cash, Miss DM, at least you saved it!! We (our family of 8 and a 1/2...one on the way in September) all went to Westward Ho! for last week, it was wonderful!!! A little shopping, a little swimming, surfing and bodyboarding due to the weather, but we enjoyed ourselves so much playing Rounders and French Cricket at Instow until sunset and then Bananagrams until 12ish. A brilliant time with great fun!!:D

Very well done on your roadkill finds, Antomac!!! I'm not fussy on football but I hope you really enjoy the season!

Have a lovely Wednesday, SPCers. :j Carry on filling those pots!!! :D

    Evening Pottersssss!

Glad you had a lovely time Sue! Not long till we go, have got copious notes on gluten free, the parks, shopping, supermarkets, non disney outings, there's very few pages of my notebook left

Well, went and got a few bits an bobs from the shops, came home and everything in my purse was pottable  so I have the grand total of 1p in my purse (my special penny that is there to entice other monies to come live with it ;) ) everything else went in the pot :rotfl: Ahh well, if I haven't got it I can't spend it :D

    Evening

Glad you had a good holiday Sue. Not only is my Christmas shopping half done I have also bought the boxes for the Christmas Eve boxes and started on the PJs for them. 10 to do this year but that includes adults. If I only did the kids I would only need 5.

Cazzie, I think you need to start a new thread for your creative gifts. I reckon loads of people would join in. If it included ideas for those who in addition to having no creative talent and no money, also had boneidleitis, then I would be the top poster :D;)

No change to pot today :(

Thanks sue for the kind words of wisdom.

I love the idea of a creative gift thread - I'm planning on making most of my Christmas presents this year and possibly making some jam, lemon curd and mint vodka to sell locally too (if I ever get around to it!).

Went out for dinner with the family and it was lovingly paid for by nana. Whilst out my dad found me a penny and my niece (aged 4) decided to give me a penny she'd been saving too (bless her!) so I potted 2p.
No other potting because I haven't been spending but that's good I suppose.

£38 left to spend freely until payday and anything I don't spend gets to go in the pot. Hoping to keep up the NSD's.

Congratulations gettingbetter :j :j how lovely, I wish you all the happiness in the world in this next stage of your life :D

Oooo a cheap homemade christmas gift thread on the christmas board would be fab, haven't been over there for a couple of years, must revisit that board! always got a few good ideas before. Talking of christmas gifts, have just started my mums cardi for her christmas present, it seems to be going ok, fairly easy pattern, am just trying to decide if I have enough time to also make my nephew a Tardis C2C blanket and Niece a Sugar Skull C2C blanket (they are siblings so I either have to make both or neither . . . ) also DS keeps mentioning a blanket for him, at first I thought he was taking the mick (as he tends to do) but it keeps coming up so I think he might actually want one  but his bed is a double and he's a stroppy teen! what design do you do for that??

It is a truly horrible day here today so i'm trying to convince DH to go out and get the milk and leave me here so I don't have to face the rain :rotfl: so far its not working :( so should have some potting money later :D

Thanks Sue! We saw a tiny bit of the ladies' marathon from the Sky Garden, hard to tell if they were the leaders or the stragglers but never mind. We did the tour of Buckingham Palace and the Houses of Parliament. Saw way more of Buck House than I expected; I thought they'd just send us round the lesser-used/known rooms but no - we got to pass through the Grand Entrance, past the State Coach which is on display, where all the dignitaries and guests go. The Ballroom was my favourite; it's where they hold the investitures (although that didn't register until my mum showed me the photo in her guidebook - duh, I walked the same carpet as Mr Cumberbatch!) and it has plush seating around the outside in a raised/bleacher style!! Plus a whacking great organ at one end! Gorgeous. The throne room is special as well. We also did the Garden Highlights tour, hard to believe you're in 39 acres in the centre of London with traffic on 3 sides. The Houses of Parliament was great value - we had an excellent guide, knowledgeable and funny with it, and a good 2-hour walk around from one end to the other.

I came back with one £2 coin although I acquired another couple today.

Hello, potters, and happy Friday to you all.

Cazzie comes to you another 1lb lighter today. Looks like I'm going to have to get used to tiny losses but if I can make them regular then it will all add up, won't it? Look forward to hearing how my fellow losers have done!

Am desperately trying not to spend anything right now so nothing for Cazzie's pot today :( But I still have some pennies in the shrapnel pots so maybe I'll be able to do some exchanges with the mother or the brother if they have any yummy pot money looking for a happy home.

Wishing you all lovely weekends filled with sunshine and summer fun - and potting! :) xxx

Well done on your loss:T:T:T i sts week before last, lost 1 1/2 last week and weigh in tomorrow:eek:
