Great to this thread still very active. Potted a few more pounds this week, found a penny (first roadkill in absolute ages) and a dime (which I thought at first sight was 5p :( ).

Hi MrsShazbat, I certainly know who to come to when I need advice on poor mentors then!
Thank you :) I'm getting nervous and excited now.

    Where are you studying?

Another 2 x £2s into the pot this weekend. It's definitely a slow year though. I partly blame Quidco because I need to use my cards to get the cashback... that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it. I'm like the Queen, rarely carry that cash stuff these days :rotfl:

Off to that there London again this weekend with my Mum. We're going to Buck House on Monday, followed by a guided tour of the Houses of Parliament. Tomorrow we're going up the Walkie-Talkie to the Sky Garden and it looks as though we'll see some of the marathon for the World Athletics Championships as we'll be down Tower Bridge way and I just spotted it on Twitter. So although we couldn't get tickets to the stadium (although there are some available now but it's a bit late to add to our trip) we might see some of it in passing. Then in 2 weeks' time we're there again because we're going to the Star Wars exhibition with my sister and nephew. Not sure how I got roped into that but it's my sister's turn to treat Mum and I'm the online-purchasing demon of the family plus any excuse to go to London for me. That'll be 5 times this year alone!

Evening, potters. It's a quiet weekend on the board - you must be out looking for roadkill!

Well, the family wedding ended up being quite a pleasant day. The weather was super weird (think glorious sunshine then a clap of thunder during the Lord's Prayer, more sunshine for the photos and then being sat in a barn whilst two young chaps frantically tried to sweep rainwater away from the entrance...). But it was nice to see that bit of the family, and haven't I grown!? (I love the amount of surprise this can cause to someone who hasn't seen me in 30 years, what did they expect I would be doing all that time!?). I was fortunately able to stay well on track with my eating, and merrily toasted the happy couple with my sugar-free squash whilst everyone else downed bottles of prosecco, but I will hopefully enjoy the results on Thursday at weigh-in (although the trays of cream cakes that appeared around 8.30pm really did push my willpower to its absolute limits!)

Wasn't planning to do much today then a friend asked if I fancied meeting up for lunch. On the one hand I didn't want to spend anything today, but I knew going out would help lift my mood, and having stretched the budget to a healthy omelette, I was duly rewarded with three beautiful new £1 coins so they have gone straight in the pot! And now it's time to get some more competition entries in, Cazzie badly needs to make more money! I am quite close to another £50 from YouGov, but time is money! I'll just be in the corner if anyone needs me xxx

MrsShazbat I'm studying in my hometown of Hull.

Nothing going on with my pots this weekend as I've been good and not spent a thing. I desperately need to go teacher clothes shopping though and will try to do it all in cash so the change can go in the pot!

    Evening Potterssssssss

ruddy weather cant make its mind up at the minute! i've never known a day like today, get up, put hoodie on because its cold, get downstairs, have brekkie, take hoodie off cos im too hot, take DD to karate, aircon has to go on, go back to get her 2 hrs later and brrrr, get that aircon off its ruddy freezing!, make tea, boiling and now im sat here freezing my nubs off cos DH went to talk to his mate and has left the door open letting in an arctic breeze that has left me all goosepimply! Ahh well, supposedly we have rain to look forward too on tuesday :(

Soooooo, last night 2 x £1 coins went into the pot :D and then today DH gave me £4.20 in change from the pub and only one of those lovely coins was a stinky old £1, all the others were lovely pottable change :j :j

Right, off to go find my hoodie again before the next ice age hits us and im frozen in time, left to be discovered millenia later by archaeologists digging for lord knows what

Wowee, I am so impressed! I always vow every year that I'm going to start my Christmas shopping earlier, but every year I seem to start later! It would definitely make more sense to spread the cost, and I should certainly buy things when I see them that I know would be perfect for people. You've inspired me, 32b3! Although I may well have to join some of these boards where people get creative and go MSE at the same time. Now, does anyone know the way to the board 'Make amazing Christmas presents with no creative talent and even less money'!? xxx
