Morning Potters! I potted my change yesterday - 1P! Better than leaving it in my purse to be wasted!

Do people find it easier to have separate pots for £2/1, silver and copper?

    Have a good day!

  • Pinkwhisk ive got a demijohn that I throw shrapnel in (I've taped paper over the top with a slit in so it's not easy to get coins out) then I've got my sealed tin for notes & £1 £2 coins. I've I threw all the shrapnel in the tin it would fill very quickly as I had the Demi john half full last year.
Not sure what everyone else does. HTH

This is the first year I've done the challenge but I've got 3 tubs, one for golds/notes, one for silvers and one for coppers. I thought doing it that way might make it easier and quicker to count up when the challenge finishes x

I've not got anything in my new pot yet. I've only shopped twice since I counted up and both times I used a card.

Today though I'm off to the cinema and the shops so will have to see what I return with. It looks like it will be a lean month spending wise as I'm trying to use up food that I have in the house, and I'm not sure I'll be bringing much of anything back home. I do have to make a start on Christmas present buying soon, but I haven't got a clue what to get anyone.

  • Went shopping to morrisons and was tempted to buy the new Warcraft DVD but decided to put it back. My friend bought it and I got the insert which means I got a free film worth £10. I also potted a grand total of £0.80

Frog I understand about christmas. I am only buying for my two girls but mainly stumped over what to get my newborn (she will be two months old dead on at christmas)

I'm back again for another year as I was pleasantly surprised with my total last year. Anyway I'm off to a good start by rounding down last years total to £100 and have potted £8.44 into my newly purchased tin.
I'm also thinking of adding any leftover cash from my envelope system at the end of each month depending on how our cashflow looks.

An excellent and precise welcome, jakes-mum, a gold star is all yours with a huge thank you! :staradmin What's that you say.....you're still potless??!!!! Whatever's the matter with you this year.....savings gone to your head??! Time to get a grip!! :naughty:

    Oooo a star! Thank youuuu :D :j

I bought one today Sue! Was a bit panicked when all I could see in £1land (mine is also selling stuff at 90p! only certain things though . . along with £5 balls, £3 towels and various other non £1 items so not really a £1land at all!) was peppa blinking pig (hate that show with a passion!) and frozen!! BUT having a dig through the back I found a trolls one so thats what I bought :D

I am truly chuffed this year as i've managed to get myself 11 presents for the giving tree for the princely sum of £16.87  all thanks to extremely lucky finds in the january sales and Argos deciding to combine their 3 for 2 and 1/3 off discounts this week :D total cost should have been £60 so a fab saving for me and extra prezzies for the tree this year :D

Right I am off to find my left over change from SPC 9 to cover the bottom of my tin AND possibly do the ironing i've been staring at for 3 days now
