Went shopping to morrisons and was tempted to buy the new Warcraft DVD but decided to put it back. My friend bought it and I got the insert which means I got a free film worth £10. I also potted a grand total of £0.80

Frog I understand about christmas. I am only buying for my two girls but mainly stumped over what to get my newborn (she will be two months old dead on at christmas)

I bought my nephew books last Christmas when he was four months old and wrote in the cover and dated it, so they can read it again and again each year, this year I bought some outfits and more books, I try to find picture books with the children's name in it, harder then it looks.

    :-)

    83p to the Pot.

I should explain, the Spice Girls money tin is beautiful-if vintage-but it is not sealed and I don't want to potentially damage it by making it sealed, so it was just a temporary measure until I got the new tin. I choose ugly ones so I don't mind getting of them if I have to.

  • Well that was annoying, I took my bagged-up SPC9 money to work with me .... and forgot to take it to the bank.

Santander will only allow me to pay 5 bags of coin in at a time; M&S/HSBC I have to do it self-service (not going there so no idea how that works) so Yorkshire Bank and then a payment transfer it is then. May have to rethink the physical coin collecting if it's this much hassle paying in  I was thinking maybe every time I get a £2, doing a £2 bank transfer. What with an app on my phone it shouldn't be that difficult. Still working on that idea....

I have a holding purse so I don't pot any coins less than 50p so I didn't have too many bags of coins. It would be possible to use a holding pot/purse until you have a £5 or £10 note which you could then put in your sealed pot. However, I do like feeling the weight of my pot when it fills up with coins.

  • Mrs Shazbat,
I had to make a deposit into my bank account (not SPC money),and for the first time I was encouraged to use the paying -in machine (at Natwest). This was all notes: the machine counted the notes, gave me a receipt, and the money was immediately in my account.
When you use the equivalent coin machines at Natwest,I think you are given a "receipt" for the money, then need to queue up at the tellers with your receipt to have the equivalent amount put into your account.
So if your branch has one of those machines,I would feel confident using it.Maybe with M+S it might even be more straight-forward:maybe the money is automatically added to your account (like Natwest coin machine). You will have to check.

When I came home from work this afternoon, and was getting changed,I noticed a new £5 note under my bed!I know a few weeks ago I had collected a few of them to pot together.Obviously this one had escaped. Now safely potted (well,in my holding pot until I sort out my pots)
