Please could I join this challenge. Never done it before.
I'd like to think I could get to £200 as my target.
Never done a challenge before
A very warm welcome to you, louby40, it's lovely to have you with us.Enjoy yourself saving, posting and be sure to join in the banter with us.
You'll find your number at the bottom of the list on post 3rd post of page 1. Please read through post 1 as it'll let you know exactly what to do with the challenge. PS. We empty our pots and declare our savings in November, please make a note of this year's date: 2nd Nov.
Please also subscribe to the thread by clicking on "Thread Tools" (lower green bar) and clicking "Subscribe to this thread"...or you may lose us! To put your SPC No on, go to "Quick Links" (right side of top green bar), click and then click on "Edit Signature" and you're away.
*Please pop your numbers on your sigs, it really helps.
An excellent and precise welcome, jakes-mum, a gold star is all yours with a huge thank you! :staradmin What's that you say.....you're still potless??!!!! Whatever's the matter with you this year.....savings gone to your head??! Time to get a grip!!
Good evening all Sealed Potters and I hope everyone had a lovely weekend, a good day today too. Though with that bitter wind.....! Take care folks.
To all members are either poorly or down on their luck at the moment then we send you some soothing {{{hugs}}} in the hope that you'll soon be feeling very much better and back here and potting just as soon as possible! :grinheart
The money you saved, Nannyg is still so well worth you having saved and it's not that low even if you may think it is, some SPC members saved a lot less than you but are still so chuffed! So much depends on what each individual saves for. You be proud of your savings and maybe battle on and get more savings for next year, good luck!indigowarrior wrote: »quick question please. I am 25 points away from claiming £50 from yougov surveys. Am I allowed to pot this?
You can absolutely pay your YouGov earnings into SPC, Indigowarrior!! Put it this way I always put mine in and have been thrilled to bits with it! :j All the best you soon get your 25 points, I've still got 200 points to get of my latest! BTW, you're doing incredibly well in having a toddler AND a new born to care for by yourself....and dust!!!!!!! Great savings in your latest post, brilliant!!:T
Best way Eljham, I always put the odds back in the pot to start off again with and I think the majority of us do, it makes it feel better to have a few coins tinkling in there as at least we know we've started!!Sue_UU,
I have read your post on the SPC ~ 9, and have reduced my declaration accordingly, I wasnt sure what I could declare, and not, I didnt realise the 12k fell under a different catagory I thought they were all MSE challenges.
Westie983
You're so right with your words to all the members, Westie, we are all individuals and each with different incomes and outgoings, and abilities to save which can be a real struggle for a so many. However, do all you can is what I tell them and that's all anyone asks!!
Re your "Save 12k in 2016". as that comes under the "Savings and Investments" and not the "Challenges" boards I'm sorry but there is no way that it can be deemed as challenges! If you think about it, it would totally belittle the savings that most SPC members are able to get and would be unfair. I hope that your happy enough with that answer, thank you.
I so understand and agree with your words, Vicky, thank you very much indeed. Time will tell.YAY! Well done in snaffling up DH's cash, a lovely sum!! :j
Your socks fiasco certainly made me laugh, 323b, whatever induced you to get that amount of socks one will never know!!Still you should never have to buy any more and possibly even ...... put them on eBay or at least...some of them!! I know someone here who would!!!!! :rotfl:
Very many thanks bubbs, you're too kind. Did you see my PM about your eb!y sales? They can most certainly be included so I've put your Total down as £800 and I'm so thrilled for you!!!! :TSaver-upper wrote:Sue,you are a fabulous leader, and we love you dearly. But family must come first.I see your post saying that you have had lovely offers to help/take the reigns, but will continue on to see how it goes. Please do as you see fit.Don't feel obliged to,say, answer every post individually,or even log in every day.Between us there are enough of us on here regularly to give welcomes, set the rules straight, answer questions, put jakes-mum on the naughty step, etc :rotfl::rotfl:.We can tell you whose been naughty when you next log in .
I do hope, when the time comes to retire as our fearlesss leader, you will keep your #1,and continue to join in the banter.Just without the work involved that you do now.
Aww,heck,I am crying now!!
Saver-upper, you are a genius! :kisses3: Putting it the way you have it is true that there are plenty of you wonderful members to help me, when I'm here and when I'm not due to either mine or my DD's illnesses. I'll be doing a lot of contemplating!
Of course the bank will count it officially, Saver!! Most of them have machines you can put it in and it counts it for you. I've never used one but other SPC members have and have been quite happy with it. Whatever you do though DO NOT USE COINSAV!R as they rob you of around 10% of it!!!!!!!
Well done with your latest savings!! I think you're right and that 2017 will be a terrific year. Saying that there are still no end to declare savings!! It's good that members space out declaring, I never mind that, it's the ones that never return, I just wish they'd say! Great work with your Pinecones cash!!!
You with an ugly tin. Florence?!!!! I thought it was you who had the Spice Girls on yours?!! Re your latest post: What an excellent gain you made, Florence!! Though if you'd asked 32b3 nicely she found........80 pairs in her drawers! Yes eighty!!
Great savings, NeedToBeDebtFree!! You're doing so well already!
Good to see you here, Naebbira, I saw your Target but until I get chance to change the 1st membership post I'm unable to add it. I know just what I'm going to do but just need to get round to it, but I will!!
Did you see my response to you on SPC 9, hummingbird? If you can remember any of the amounts you had saved, regardless of whether you needed them to pay out with, you CAN INCLUDE THEM in your savings as they had been part of them! Give it some thought and see me back on 9 for ANY Total you may have had!! My sincere condolences on the loss of your Dad, my heart goes out to you it really does as it must be so very raw for you still.
Hi Becky! That's fine about no target, you save well and be chuffed with whatever it is! BTW, many apologies but I realised when coming off of SPC 9 that I'd completely missed seeing your Total!! I'll be back there asap!
Thanks so very much, ETO, but I'm not entirely sure what will happen yet as members have made great suggestions to make things so much easier so I'll see how DD goes with the MS and decide before the end of the year. Can't put your Target on yet as I need to adjust the 1st membership post. I'll do it asap!
Dear Helen - nothing about savings is pitiful at all - one way or tother it's still what you've saved!!! If you can remember any of the amounts you paid out then do let me know as you had saved them at one point!! Don't forget!!
You're absolutely right about your dear Granddad, he knew all to well that life is for the living so my guess is he'll be looking down happily on you and smiling at all the good decisions you make in life saying "well done Helen!" :A
Bless you for your wonderful words and wishes, we'll see what the year brings forth as I've had many suggestions made, not least of which is Saver-upper's! Time will tell Helen!
Oooh poor you Tizzi!! I hope it won't be too long before your ankle mends and your back potting again! Belated Happy Birthday wishes to you! :T
Don't worry findingmyfeet, you never have to rejoin SPC I simply C&P everything over to the new thread and we're off again! As you may have seen I've experienced problems with the 1st membership list but it won't take long to fix it, then I'll go through the posts and add folk's Targets. You're so kind with your lovely words FMF, there's plenty of time left yet though!
Well done, MrsTinks you save well and enjoy the amazing surprise next November! :j
Made your way here ok then mcjordi! Good to see you and save well!
You just couldn't resist it could you, Onmyway2, but if it's beautiful....! Good savings too!

Hi Sue and the potting [ potty!!] family,
Started my new pot at the weekend and have to give it a shake every time I pass it. Rosie, the original sealed pot puppy, is now 5 and I love her to bits.I bought her with my savings on here. I've banked enough from last year to get another, but sadly, the one I had a deposit on died before he was 2 weeks old. So it will be next year. I need another deerhound !!!!
Family life has been up and down, however, great grandson no 2 was born in the summer, bless him.
I enjoy reading everyone's posts, take care of yourselves, and fill that pot!

Welcome skilly,
I see you are debt free and mortgage free - Well done you. Apart from 68K of Mortgage and 19K of credit cards I shift round and round so am I!!
Potted £2 instead of buying coffee and found 5p roadkill on the bus and 1p later on the pavement. Both in the pot. I've got a yellow china pig with 5,10,20 and 50p pieces in that is quite heavy now. Reckon it has up to about £30 in total in it. Not sure if I'm allowed to make it part of SPC10 as I saved it last year/year before but haven't counted and banked it.27/5/17 Mort 64705 BTs 1904031/12/17 Mort 59815 BT 1673007/04/20 Mort 49208 BT 1572128/07/20 Mort 47387 BT 1263414/11/20 Mort 45905 BT 10134 20/05/21 Mort 42335 BT 686811/08/22 Mort 32050 BT 2915Sealed Pot Challenge 16 Number 50 -
Well Santander will only allow me to pay in 5 bags of coin over the counter which is a bit rubbish. If M&S have a limit as well, it looks like I'll have to pay into our joint account with Yorkshire Bank and then do a transfer, as I refuse to run between banks just to satisfy some ludicrous rules they have on coin. Santander in particular are awful IMHO with the counter service. They once told me they didn't have 28 £1 coins available to give me (I run our work lottery syndicate and was doing a pay-out for Christmas). At lunchtime. On a weekday.SPCNo.18 #20 (17 £562.86 16 £678; 15 £1120.92; 14 £416.53; 13 £191.52; 12 £260.48; 11 £480.95; 10 £682.31; 9 £442.64)
