Have a lovely relaxing evening SPCers! I hope everyone had as good a week as was possible under awful circumstances. Have a good bank holiday weekend, whatever you're doing.
To all those of you who are not feeling well in any way or those who are poorly I do hope that you'll soon get better and here for you are some {{{{hugs}}}} to help xxxx
Great news that you've got the childcare back on, Hicksy! I understand your hopes for getting more savings this year but to use the word TRUMP as adjective to describe it??!!!!!

I looked after my nephew on Saturday Sue, and as he gets older he gets more demanding. He is lovely though so I don't mind.
I am really angry about what happened in Manchester last night. All those poor people who went out to have a good time and are not going home. I know there is nothing my anger can achieve, but it's just awful

To be honest 32b3, I never know whether it's right to mention such things on SPC. I understand there is a section on MSE where it's possible but we wouldn't be able to express our outrage so well as it's not to those we know, to our SPC family members. However, it's still part of our life so I'm pleased you spoke your mind.
You're right that our anger achieves nothing but it's good to vent our outrage nonetheless! Why do such people think they have a right to murder whom ever they wish...why?!!!! The poor loved ones who now have to live grieving their loved ones because of the act of a mad man (or whatever fits) is so terribly wrong! I hate the thought of belittling the victims and loved ones but I also hope and pray that none of our SPC members have been caught up in this atrocity!! I realies this is all a bit late but I just wasn't able to on the thread earlier.
Your Nephew along with all youngsters no doubt of his age are all the same, but they get through that stage (they have several!) and mostly turn out well.
Good savings btw! Brilliant news about your gym induction, it's that time of year when there will be no stopping you! :j Can't be bad!!
Some very thoughtful words there, Cazzie, and as you say...some extremely wonderful acts of kindness shone through on that night.
Some marvellous saving!! :j
Good luck with your councillor, I hope you do well.
Bless you Frogletina! Please don't ever apologise for getting such huge problems off of your chest, or at least, a little I hope!Thank Heaven your Son is relatively ok and there was no TIA. I hope he still stays well and echocardiogram reveals that all is well, or that something can at least be done to help.
Oh your poor ex!What an awful dilemma that must be for the entire family to have to deal with. However, at least you're doing the very best possible for him..together.
I sincerely wish you all the very best possible, especially in getting the proper help your ex's needs. Anytime you want to chat, please come on the thread and do so without hesitation. Take great care of yourself and of each other!
Very kind and true words to Frogletina, jakes-mum!
Yes, I'm fully aware of your coupon fetish!! :rotfl:
No, Sue-UU, we are off tomorrow. We are really looking forward to it, recapturing holidays from our youth as we speed across the continent in our 2 seater. My only worry is the limited luggage space. Although, my old bones may object to the trip too. :rotfl:
I have £1.91 to pop in the pot today - probably my last pot until we come home. A bientot.
Such lovely words siju, we are always here for each other, and as you rightly say, just the act of typing or writing everything down can be a huge help for us all! :grinheart
I couldn't get on here sooner so I know you're already in France; have a really wonderful holiday and enjoy exploring those planned new areas, old bones and all! :rotfl: A plus tard!
There you are MLE007, being patient so often brings rewards for us!!
Oh how inconsiderate that crew is are, 32b3!!!!
A darned good idea of Cazzie's though - love it!!! :rotfl::rotfl: Too late though, problems solved than goodness 32b3!
Very well done Chutney, you always have your pot at heart!!!
All in all some great news then, Vicky!! An excellent idea to learn Italian too, I find language learning helps focus the brain like nothing else, mostly because it still rattles on in your mind with me testing myself long after I've put a book, cd down or come off-line!!! All best wishes with it and don't forget there are plenty of free learning facilities on-line. Memrise is an excellent one though it costs a little, so well worth it though!!
You're not alone FoxFace, I promise you. Due to epilepsy I can only go out if I have DH, DD or DS or the elder grandchildren with me. So don't think it's only you. Usually we go out once a week for shopping. Do what you're able, no one asks more and as you say, at least you're not continually seeing things you can't afford!! ;)Terrific news about the lost £2, very well done!!! :T
I hope you're feeling a lot better by now, Incywincy, illness soon pulls us down but in time we get back to our normal selves. :DLaughter makes us feel so much better and quickly too, put a comedy show on the TV or a comic DVD if you have one. Don't worry, you don't have to be with us on SPC for five minutes before you're truly a member of the family, always bear that in mind. :kisses3::kisses3::kisses3: Good luck with the surveys, another one I've used for years is YouGov, you don't get your cash until you've built it up to 5000 points or, as I look at it, £50 but it's a lovely sum when you get it! I see Cazzie's already told you, goes to show it's good then!
£15 in the pot post-shopping!!! :j
Have a lovely Bank Holiday weekend, folks. Keep feeding those pots well!!!
Sue xx

Goooooooooooood morning my lovely potters!!!!
Well DH talked me into subbing him last night so he could go to the pub *rolls eyes*, BUT he came back with a pocket full of change for me :j :j :j DD also decided she was having her weekly icecream from the icecream man last night (while we were yet again watching Disney videos on youtube) and came back proudly holding a £2 coin
Soooooo into the pot last night was £2.15 in shrapnel, 3 x new £1 coins and £4 x £2 coinson a downside, i'm pretty sure DH was given a fake £1 in his change by the pub  it doesn't look right to me so im not happy about that.
With all this talk of survey sites, I reactivated my yougov account and it seems I still have 750 points in there  couldn't make head nor tail of the site though, I had survey invitations on the left hand side for 2012 :rotfl: hopefully it will make more sense when I re-log in today for a look. I cant even remember if they send you survey invitations to your inbox or anything
EDIT: Have worked out that the offensive £1 coin was actually a gibraltar £1
Also, forgot to say that my sister and her husband were doing the Manchester half marathon todayVery proud of them both and they sent us a link so we could track them and DD was glued to my ipad from the moment they set off till I had to force her out the door for karate and was highly excited when the app suddenly showed her auntie had finished after 35 minutes , I had to gently explain that though *auntie* was a very dedicated runner, there was a good chance that it was just the app playing up :rotfl: and then we had a long conversation about how *auntie* was beating *uncle* in their 'race' :rotfl:. They did cross the line together though

Afternoon, potters! Boy, it's a hot one today!Haven't been on for ages,
Kind of lost the knackHope to be able to get back on it again. Been saving a few pounds here and there.
Welcome back AntoMac - I'm sure you'll get right back into the swing of things soon enough! I've not long been back properly and I'm obsessed with getting my hands on pot money!
Hiya jakes-mum, glad to hear you've had plenty of pot material coming in! I was hoping the dodgy-looking £1 coin might've been one of those slightly faulty ones that were actually commanding quite big prices online because of their uniqueness! I don't know if a Gibraltar £1 coin would fall into the same category but I'll let you know if I see any on sale for vast amounts! Glad to hear you've rebooted the old YouGov account too - I get survey invites by email. As I said to Incy, I think there are options within your profile regarding preferences around surveys and how often you receive them. You've got a nice healthy start with your 750 points though! And good for the fam running in Manchester - I've got it on the telly and it looks like a really lovely positive event highlighting again the wonderful spirit of the city after such terrible events this week. I'm so glad it went ahead.
I've just got back from the boot sale with my friends - made my pitch fee of £10 back (my friend provided the boot, I paid the pitch fee) and then a lovely £34.60 in juicy profit. Doesn't sound like a lot but I didn't have a huge amount of stuff to sell (although still seemed to come home with loads!?) so I'm well pleased that I managed to get that amount. And so much for the pot! You should have seen me counting out copious amounts of 20ps in change so I could hold onto all the shiny new £1 coins and lovely £2s! Can't wait to feed the pot later!
Hope you all enjoy the sunshine but don't forget the factor 50, it's boiling out there and I'd hate for any of you to go crispy!xxx
