    Evening, potters!

I trust the only reason it's so quiet on here today is because you're all out enjoying the sunshine and using the opportunity to search for some serious roadkill! I hope you've all had happy Fridays and enjoy your evenings heading into yet another Bank Holiday weekend!

    Good evening everyone :hello:

I'm going down to 4 days a week after half term!!! The headteacher has been so lovely and wants to support me. However, a 20% reduction in salary for a while, with a 20% increase in spare time. I'm trying to find things for ME - including trying to learn Italian!

DH still hasn't tripped up recently. :o However, I've managed to pot £2 or so... Every little helps!

Welcome to all our new potters

Vicky, I'm so glad things have worked out well for you and you are being supported. I can't tell you the difference it has made to me having a supportive manager (I always thought she didn't like me much, but since I've been off she's bent over backwards to support me and now it's like I'm the daughter she never had!) I hope you will be able to use your 20% increase in spare time to do some things you find enjoyable and meaningful and that it will help you to achieve a better balance in your life and more happiness :)

Hope the rest of you lot are taking care of yourselves too!

Had private counselling today so had to part with another £40 but right now I can't think of anything better to spend my money on. My counsellor is based near Lidl so popped in afterwards to pick up a few bits and I only went and got two gorgeous £2 coins in my change! They seem to be having a resurgence! So they'll be taking up residence in my tin later. Mum also has a few shiny new £1 coins so I'm going to scrape together the shrapnel and see if I can do a swap. Can't have my pot going hungry now, can I!?

Must get my rear end into gear for a boot sale this weekend too - hoping to make some serious money for the pot. Only problem is, I'm going to have major dilemmas on my hands if I have to part with pot money to give change! It could get messy...! xxx

Unfortunately it's quite the opposite here :( I don't get out very much... which on the plus side means less opportunity for pointless spending, but in turn that mean less to contribute here :(

Never feel you have nothing to contribute, FoxFace - it's always cause for a wee celebration when we have no spending days!!! So let's have a yay for one of those :) xxx

Well, I'm glad to see you're taking the marathon training seriously! ;) Excellent potting as always, 32b3, and I'm glad you got the day off after all that hard work you've been putting in - even if you did have to spend it at the gym!

I just cadged another two fivers, a £2 and two new £1s off of Mumma (fairly exchanged for alternative notage and coinage, of course!), so that makes a lovely total of £18 for me today. Will probably take it easy on the potting over the next few days (apart from the boot sale) until all my direct debits jump out of my account on the 1st of the month then I can judge how much I have to play with for the month and how much I can afford to tuck away :) Have also transferred £100 of my pay into my Emergency Fund and put enough for a 4-week bus travelcard in another account that I keep for things I know I need to pay for (it makes sense in my head!) This now means that when I finally return to work I will have enough for my travel for 12 weeks so takes the pressure off a little. I do like to save ahead where I can. But my pot is getting really nice and heavy now and I'm excited to find out how much it's hiding in a few months' time (although of course I don't want to wish the summer away!)

    Keeeeeeeep potting, peoples! :D xxx

    Evening all

Havent been on for a couple of days - havent been too well. Got a bit of a nasty infection which has knocked me for six so havent bee out for roadkill either :(

I have added the cashback apps to my phone though - they look good. I shall use them when I next go shopping.
I have joined FPL and now have 21p in the account on there. I have also joined valuedopinions and have managed to do 2 surveys and have £1.50 in my account on there. I'm not sure how reliable these places are for paying out but I figured I'm not losing anything!

Reading through the posts it looks like £2 coins are quite common, but here in the north of the country, I don't think I have seen one/received one in my changed for at least a year! They seem so rare to me! I'm almost tempted to go into the bank and change a note into £2 coins!

I really love this board, how open, honest and non judgemental it is. It feels such a lovely community here even though I haven't been here long!

Sue-UU - Yes I think smiling/joking/laughing through your disabilities/problems is a necessity. Humour really helps me through!

Managed to steal a fiver from my Dads back pocket with my litter picker yesterday (gave it back - I was proving a point that he shouldn't keep loose money in there!) Though I think he should have given me it really for saving him from having even more money pinched in the future by a possible pickpocket ;)

Hi Incy! Glad to hear you've been putting that litter picker to good use! I agree that your Dad could have donated to the pot to thank you for opening his eyes to sinister possibilities! But luckily it sounds like you're creating loads of new incoming money streams! I would recommend YouGov for surveys, I get a lot from them usually ranging from 25 to 75 points, mainly 50, and 5000 points gets you 50 lovely British pounds! It can take a little while to build up your points but the surveys are really quick (and some are actually quite interesting). But I had 3 surveys yesterday and they don't take long to do. So far I've had £100 from them and I'm well over halfway to my next £50. It's winning :)

I also love the little family we've built here, and you can always rely on one of the family to provide a listening ear, a virtual hug, some words of wisdom and even a giggle :)

I've just been sorting stuff for my boot sale tomorrow and I've got a lot less than I thought, but still enough to hopefully make a good few pennies and we usually have fun doing them. Hopefully if this lovely weather holds, the buyers will be out in force!

Not sure I'll have anything to pot today but fingers crossed for tomorrow! :D xxx

Yay! Randomly found two new £1 coins in my makeup bag this morning... no idea how they got there, but in the pot they went :)

Also, thanks Cazzie for the YouGov recommendation! I love surveys and getting rewarded for them is a bonus (I'm the kind of person that always completes feedback surveys for fun when I've bought something from a company :rotfl:)

Just signed up and got my first 100 points, then realised you could have got points for referring me, sorry I didn't realise before I had done it :(

Don't worry! I always forget about that! I'm just glad you're signed up and ready to start making some money! I think somewhere on the profile part of it you can choose how often you want to receive surveys, I chose the option for as many as possible, and I get a steady stream. They can actually be quite interesting so I think you will like them! I've also been doing the feedback surveys when I've booked tables at restaurants recently and got a few nice freebies as a thank you, my favourite being a bowl of pigs-in-blankets at Toby Carvery! (I'm easily pleased and food is most definitely the way to my heart!)

Talking of food, my lovely Mumma just got us a chippy dinner and now has two lovely £2 coins for me - time to raid my shrapnel tins (once I've eaten my chips, obvs!) :D xxx
