Hope the DVDs sell for loads Cazzie. I do quite well on eBay, i am always clearing out my wardrobe, and everything seems to sell eventually.

I am going on a work visit tomorrow to the countryside. I suppose its a change of scenery but its a longgg journey.

    £2.59 potted today.

Thanks 32b3 - they went for £15.60 in the end, well chuffed with that! After ebay have taken their cut, I will be left with a tidy sum for the Emergency Fund. Every little helps! Between Facebook and ebay selling, I am slowly decluttering and swapping old junk for new money!

A trip to the countryside sounds nice! I wonder if there'll be more roadkill there! Keep your eye out! Have a lovely trip, even if you do have to work :) xxx

    Alright, potters!?

Pleased to report a fabulous £14 for the pot today! Had to hit up the pound shop to package the DVDs I sold last night, and got some lovely change from a tenner, then did the same at the post office. Out of that came two lovely new plastic fivers (which, thankfully, shall henceforth be known simply as fivers now the crusty old ones are disappearing!) and four shiny new £1 coins. So it'll be a royal banquet for the pot this evening!

Hope you've all had enjoyable days and got your hands on some pennies for your pots! Looking forward to hearing how you're all doing :) xxx

Welcome back, Sue-UU! It's lovely to see you on this thread again! :D

I have not been potting much :o partly because I decided to keep a note of all my potting deposits so if anything unfortunate happens to my pot again I'll be able to add up all the deposits and work out the amount that was in there. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a notebook to use, and didn't want to buy a new one because a) that wouldn't be very MSE, and b) I have practically 500 somewhere in storage :rotfl:

Also, I'm currently getting less than half of my "normal" income, so until that's fixed, I have less disposable income which means less to pot. I already pot all £2s I get and I recently decided to pot all new £1s too (not sure how viable this will be long-term as I seem to get a lot of new £1s ) which is a lot.

Today I tracked down a notebook and totalled up all the £2s and new £1s that have been cluttering my very heavy purse throughout April and potted 18 x £2, 7 x new £1, and 45p shrapnel from the bottom of my purse. That all added up to £25.45 - I won't pot this amount every time but am feeling quite pleased with that :D

I can't spend £5 notes fast enough - they really annoy me. I put a £10 note in a self service till and got a £5 note with my change today. Also I got £10 out of a cash point today and was given it as two five pound notes, grrr.

I much prefer coins, especially £2 coins. The last time I needed cashback I asked for it in coins and got 3 £2 coins and 4 £1 coins. I'm doing that again as all of my £2 coins go in the sealed pot - I never spend them.

As a bank cashier I am allowed to say I hate the £5 notes too, and I'm going to miss the old ones, after tomorrow :0(

Happy Friday Potters!! Sorry to be so late again, but more hospital visits due to the finger. I hope all of you enjoyed the Bank Holiday and time with your families or simply doing as you wish! Have another lovely weekend folks.
To all those sick, in pain or feeling low in any way, take care of yourselves and get well soon! :grinheart

It was the virus that caused the heart attack Sue. Sorry didn't reply earlier but nothing to declare as potted and know we are meant to at least mention potting :D

I am having to stay on low dose medication until I see the specialist again - should be about five weeks now. Hope he decides to take me off them as I really dislike having to take meds.

Hi Lynne and very well done with the potting! :D I wouldn't worry too much about an occasional post not mentioning money saved. All the best learning Spanish, amazing what can be done with language learning on line. I do French & German and love it though it's not always easily retained!

Good Heavens above that must have been one vile virus to cause a heart attack!!!! Keep taking the pills for as long as is necessary as they're for your benefit. Looks after yourself Lynne and I hope you're soon fully recovered!

Great potting 32b3! :j I'm glad you enjoyed your weekend, but yes, it's a b....r having to once again go back! Fantastic to hear you're running again, and a 5k start is a brilliant beginning!!!

Good news about you DL, jakes-mum, so pleased to hear she's recovering well. A very wise idea in guarding her toe from the radiator. Brilliant saving!!!

Are you pregnant then Cazzie or have young ones? I only ask because of your baby clothes shopping in T!scoe. Good luck with the comping and Ernie, and well done with the £5er and especially with the £200!!!! Just noticed your running and presume - no, you're not having the pattering of any little feet, ah well. Good wishes with the running, I'll gladly sponsor you too and know just what to do.

Ah! So I guess you're pregnant then, Miss DM? After all why else would you crave fish and chips at 8 am!!!! Good potting!!

Excellent potting Chutney!! :j A really amazing amount safe and sound! PS. I've just noticed in your latest post you've had a Lottery win - congratulations to you on another excellent sum safe in the pot!!!!!! :T

You're doing really well with saving, MLE007, very well done!! :D

Good to hear you having enjoyed your 2 weekends doing as you wished, Westie! I'm so glad it's not Joe Public alone that detest these £5 notes! Whoever in their right mind (or not) thought that was a good idea must be bonkers!!!

Good to see you Florence and well saved!! :D

Whatever the amount of days you've been saving for, HoneyBee83, you're doing so very well indeed. All that matters now is that you keep going!!! :j

Hi siju! Now there's a lovely amount that's gone into your pot, fantastic!! :j

Hello lilyflower and thank you. Those are very wise ideas in order to keep your money safe, don't forget to keep that pot well hidden too! I hope it's not long until you have your hours increased. Happy saving Lily!!! :D

I echo your hatred of those ghastly new £5 notes, Frogletina, I absolutely detest them! Give me coins any day!!!

Yes Saver-upper, we're counting on you coming back to the thread more regularly, but until then.....excellent work with what you've saved recently!! You've done marvellously!!!! :D

£20 placed in the pot after shopping!

Keep up saving folks, there's a lot being potted left right and centre!!!

Have a wonderful weekend, folks. Keep feeding those pots!!! :D

    Hi Sue and all ...

Still not really having a lot of cash in my possession, but I did manage to pot about £1.50 in change this morning ... hard going at the mo!

    Happy nearly weekend everyone!

    :)

EDIT - my Mum had a tenner in change and I had a tenner in my wallet, so we did a deal. Another £10 potted!
