Do cash machines really mis-dispense money Westie? It has never occurred to me that they would ever be wrong.
I can just imagine you in the bank Jakes-mum with all those new £5ers :rotfl: I can't stand them. its the see-through bit that freaks me out.
£6.09 potted today.

Yes could be one of a few reasons
1. The cashier has put the wrong boxes in the wrong slots, so £20 notes come out when it should be £10 **big trouble here
2. The customer answers their phone and presses the button and the machine dispenses money that they then forget to take so the money goes back in, and get credited back to customer a/c
3. The customer answers another phone and walks away without taking the money and its taken, and thus they put a claim in to find out if the machine balances
4. The machine fails and the customer is debited and the money is still in the machine, so again a claim is put through, if they dont just think they misplaced the money.
All of above will mean the machines balance, are over or under.

Evening Potters,
A little update on DD, she has been laughing happily all evening and has only had one small dose of calpol, will take bottle to bed with me just incase but hoping for a sleep through tonight. Have tucked a very fluffy and thick blanket down the side of her mattress to try and stop her accidently kicking the edge of the bed or the radiator in her sleep as shes a fidgeter.
She asked for fish and chips for tea tonight so we felt (despite DH being back on his diet) that it would be mean to say no after such a horrible day so a lovely £2 coin and 80p in silver for the potSPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £225/£10000 -
Evening, potters!
A lovely plastic fiver in the pot for me tonight - I succumbed to the baby clothes sale rail in the supermarket! (Sooooooo dangerous!) I was actually surprisingly restrained and only spent £4 but paid with a tenner so there was a nice new fiver in my changeThere was also a stinky old £1 coin but that's gone in the shrapnel tin ready to be bagged and banked!
I've also put a solid bit of comping in today and as the month's end is near, I shall be hoping for a win or two next week! Plus it'll be Premium Bond draw time too - I've been very lucky the last two months and I usually find I have little runs of three good months so I'm preparing myself for another nice little surprise! (We live in hope!)
Great potting all round this week, folks, even with so much going on! Well done usxxx

Hi there
Glad to hear DD is recovering well jakes-mum - unfortunately I'm now craving fish and chips at 8 in the morning. With lashings of salt & vinegar- very bad sign!
I'm not planning on much spending this week (even with the bank holiday). Think we might already have all the odds n sods we need for diy in the garage somewhere. So am reporting a £1.34 pottage.
Happy long weekend everyone

Morning, potters! (Alright, afternoon, but I got up late!)
I had a lovely evening last night enjoying my Christmas present from my brother - a trip to the theatre to see Ian and Natalie from Strictly followed by a meet and greet. We went for dinner before the show, and there was me thinking I might get a free feed as it was my Christmas night out, but no, we went halves! However, all was not lost, for in my change was a beautiful shiny new £1! It was all I had for the pot yesterday but better than nothing!
Hope you're all enjoying some time with your loved ones this Bank Holiday weekend. I plan to put a few more bits online for sale later today (made another fiver on social media, and have a bid of £4.15 on that famous auction site for some DVDs I won, every little helps!) Slowly but surely on my way to my first million!xxx

PS - I popped another £200 straight in the Emergency Fund on payday but I fear said fund might have to become the Pay For Edinburgh Fund as my Christmas present to my brother was a trip to the Edinburgh Festival. Why do I think up these wonderful extravagant gift ideas and THEN wonder how I'm going to pay for them!? Anyhow, I am determined NOT to raid my pot, that is strictly Emergency Fund only! xxxHouse Deposit Fund - £30,000 / Fees Fund - £5,000Furniture Fund - £2,500 / White Goods Fund - £2,500 / Flooring Fund - £2,500Emergency Fund - £7,500365 Day Penny Challenge for 2025 - £638.69/£667.95 (Holiday Fund)£2 Savers Club for 2025 - £24/£200 (Christmas Fund)52 Week Card Challenge for 2025 - £267/£400 (Fun Fund)0

Evening potterssssssssss
Well DH toddled off to the pub this afternoon and came back with 1 x £2 coin, 4 x £1 coins and £1.10 in silver. DS also handed over his £10 for his gym payment so a lovely £17.10 in the pot today! DH has decided to go back to the pub (he was only drinking coffee in the day before people start thinking he's got a drink problem or something! ) so hopfully some more lovely change when I pick him up laterSPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £225/£10000
