I must say working in a bank I have enjoyed this Bank Holidays off even better them being close together, means I have averaged a three day week over the last month.

Back to the grindstone on Tuesday, bank to the flow of customers paying in bags of £1, and will now have the old £5 being paid in to add to that, exciting times ahead....

**off to sort our the new spreadsheet for my Virtual Sealed Pot thread, ready for a new month.

    Morning, potty people!

Well, here we are on the 1st of the month again, when my brief few days of having a healthy sum in my bank account end abruptly and money goes out to all and sundry. I do have to remember that £200 goes to me - well, my Help To Buy ISA - so I try to concentrate on that bit and the Flat Deposit Fund getting a wee boost. And then I get comfortable and cross everything for a win on the Premium Bonds!

In pot-based news, I'm off to meet a friend for a Bank Holiday walk followed by some Bank Holiday cake, so I have high hopes for some pot money in my change. And in a pleasant twist, I withdrew a tenner from the ATM to pay for said cake and found I already had a tenner in my purse, felt a little bit like I'd won the lottery! (It's as close as I'm ever gonna get now as I can't afford two whole pounds to play the real thing!)

Enjoy your day and I hope yours is full of nice surprises too! Will check in later with good news hopefully (although now I've had my good luck for the day, I'll probably end up with a load of dusty old £1 coins and a crusty old fiver!) We live in hope! :) xxx

Well, I'm pleased to report wins all round! My fellow underpaid-NHS-worker friend and I decided to save some pennies and instead of having tea and cake in an overpriced coffee shop, we went to the supermarket and got a few bits then went back to hers and drank lots of tea and ate a vast number of cakes for half the price we would have paid for one! So I spent only £2.60, got a boost to my loyalty points thanks to a Bank Holiday weekend promotion, AND got a gorgeous plastic fiver AND a beautiful £2 coin for my pot! So I am going to have one happy pot tonight! And my bank manager will be a lot happier as well :)

Hope you're all enjoying what's left of the Bank Holiday weekend and getting your hands on some lovely food for your pots :D xxx

Well done 32b3, glad you're stepping up the training! I did 8 miles through some beautiful bluebell woods today but around mile 5 my right leg started giving me some serious gyp - this concerns me as I am signed up to walk 20 miles (I'd love to say it wasn't my idea but it actually was!) for my local hospice in June and I'm very concerned it's going to be even more painful than I originally thought! I knew I should've stuck to glowstick-waving!

Thanks, I'm pleased with my potting for the day. Almost withdrew another fiver in town when I changed buses on the way home but didn't want to get too ahead of myself, what's left still needs to last another 28 sleeps! I do get carried away, I like to be a responsible pot owner and keep my pot well fed! xxx
