Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
    Hi All

I am rushing a bit as we are now on the run down to school pick up o clock. Today I have:

    1. Been shopping. I wrote a list. Shopped for main meals as today is a planned spend day. Tommorow a NSD. I spent £20.30 (note to self update grocery sig total)
    2. Came home. Rang a company who owes me £30. Asked why the cheque had not been reissued as requested. Now I know. It will be coming soon.
    3. Rang Indesit as we are one of those with an affected tumble drier. Couldn't get hold of anyone. Have left a message.
    4. Rang the docs to order more pills (the ultimate money saver, lol) have to go for a med review tomorrow to recieve them. Have arranged with OH to cover the school runs as it's a late appointment
    5. I recycled my pumpkin into the compost heap
    6. Made scones using up some lemon rind, freshly grated ginger, orange zest and juice and a plum
    7. Whilst the oven was on I made a lasagne for DS tonight, his dinner tommorow and our dinner tommorow. I then made a beef pie for OH and I. I bought a £5 pack of frying steak today that had 4 steaks in it. I used just one for the pie as that was plenty. The other 3 have been allocated for a steak dinner later in the week and the spare one I will cook and use in a stir fry.
For the pie I will be using up some pics pastry I cooked and froze from an event I catered.
Also used up a big bag of carrots from the freezer in the pie.
    8. Have checked my online banking. More bills gone out today but fine.
    9. Hoping my bus money will stretch another day thanks to the hopper fare
    10. Line drying some washing as it's beautiful sun here again despite being cold.

    Back later

    Evening all :)
Short list today, as I have been looking after GD:
Used HG stewed rhubarb from the freezer instead of bought fruit for breakfast :)
    4 items sold on ebay
Made scones with GD, as she wanted to do some baking. Cut up a shrivelled apple and added to the mix :) Made grown up scones, and let her use a small portion of the dough to make her own with small cutters, shapes etc. They looked a bit grey, but reckon that 10 minutes at Gas 7 sorts out any issues  :rotfl:
Entertained GD for free, dog walking, duck feeding, peppa pig on my laptop, stories, toys, baking etc
Dentist today so didn't manage a NSD. Made the most of it and splashed out on bread and carrots as well :rotfl:
Grandad stepped up to the plate and looked after GD while I was at the dentist's :) Activities involved sawdust and other substances that I had to scrape off her when I got back :rotfl:
HM meals from stores, Grandad is making jacket potatoes and something for dinner :D

Meanwhile I am toasting my toes in front of the wood burner recovering from Grandma duties :D

Got to look for those ebay items shortly though!
  • We are semi twins today dawn. We fed the ducks and had jacket potatoes too, very delish!

    Evening all,

Dawn I did chuckle at the "sawdust & substances"

Almost completed my list, I just need to have a shower but waiting til dh's home to watch the kids as I want a lovely relaxing shower, not one with either of the kids coming in to tell me what the other one has done or coming in to use the loo!

I made a start (whilst waiting at the school this afternoon) on my Bullet Journal, I've been procrastinating about it thinking I'd wait for the "right" notepad but decided to just start it with what I have instead :)
In there I've put my freezer inventory and also a list of items in my use-up box and I'm going to challenge myself to get as much used up as I can before the month end :) There may be some weird and wonderful concoctions coming out of my kitchen for a while ;)
Also got my niece to open and empty all the little sachets of sugar that I had in my handbag/cupboard into our sugar canister ;) (She does think I'm crazy!)

Right I better get on as when I fetched the towels in from the line they were nearly as wet as when I put them out this morning so I need to get them hung around the house now.

    Have a good evening all.

    Morning everyone

Oooh Pixie - hello there  Nice to see you.

Bob - I have an oyster card I bought years ago - I tried to do the refund thing online but it's so old I have to call and I've never bothered with the hassle. I could post it to you - I don't know what is on it (maybe £10 minus 1 journey) or whether it will even work but if you send me your address I'll send it onto you. xxx

Need to get a move on this morning... Catch up soon!

How incredibly kind La E :T so sweet of you.

Morning everyone :) Feeling a tad "big" and fed up today, 2.5 weeks until my due date, hoping baby comes on time or makes an early appearance but no signs of that so far! My list for today is:

    - Check bank accounts
    - All meals from home
    - Tidy and hoover the bedroom (This has been on my list for ages!)
    - File away paperwork
    - Go to Mr T for a storage basket and to print some photos for babys memory book
    - Finish sorting out presents from my baby shower at the weekend
    - Swagbucks/Nectar Canvass/My Survey
    - Find a few bits to list on Ebay

Quite a list today! I'm hoping to get it all done and not get to tired! Have a fab Wednesday everyone! x

It's such a pain by the end Katy Ann. Everyone is so different as well. I felt so fed up as I went off work at 36 weeks using up holiday before mat leave but then my DS didn't appear till I was on my 42nd week. So I always wished I could have that time back especially at the end of my mat leave. However DD arrived on her due date, well labour started anyway. I was so shocked and still at work:eek: so 2 different babies very different arrivals. All you can do is try and rest if at all possible. Thinking of you.

1Luckylady I always admire your use it up efforts. I think you put banana and spinach together the other day with chocolate powder? I meant to ask did you blend it like a smoothie?

Hi Bob, yes that's right, banana, spinach, milk and hot choc powder, in the blender (even more mse, they used straws out of the blender cup thing too rather then use another couple of glasses ;) )

Hey LP - my lunch today is a big handful of wholewheat pasta, 1/2 tin of chopped tomatoes, garlic powder (might leave that out next time :p), onion powder, spinach ripped up into it. :)

Have you checked black circles.com for your tyres - it's a comparison site where you can either compare prices for getting them fitted or just delivery if you want to change them yourself.

    xx

Thank you LaE I must give pasta a go next week.
Ohhh and will defo look at black circle👍🏻
