Ally, any sign of things calming down with your work?

Nope, it's my multi-national employer's busiest time now as Christmas approaches.Debt-free day: 8th May 2015 "Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck," Dalai Llama0 -

Today's list from me
* Ys thins toasted for the kids breakfast
* Gym done to make the most of my membership, filled up water bottle there too.
* Washed a load on the quick wash (will have to hang inside as the weather has turned this morning)
* I'm having a fast day so no food til tonight so that's mse!
* Meals planned for tonight - leftover curry for us all tonight, just need to cook more rice and there is still some stewed apple left for dessert
Still to do
* Make pumpkin soup with the freebie pumpkin from my daddone and used up a butternut squash and a jug of chicken stock from the freezer
* Check banking/update spreadsheets
* Check tcb as waiting for something to be payable
* Wrap xmas pressies
* Make tomorrows lunchesused up the last carrot, cut up into batons for the kids lunchboxes
* rm survey
* Hoover everywhere
* Clean kitchen with stardrops
* Cut up the last two peppers from the fridge and put in the freezer as they aren't needed in the next couple of days meal plan
I need to do loads more but also need to crack on so I'll start on these and come back in a bit!
Have a lovely day all, its nearly weekend
[/FONT]
Still haven't got the presents wrapped, I'm going to have to put that on the top of my list tomorrow and make sure I get it done as its been on my list every day this week!
Other small things
* Showered but left hair to dry naturally
* Arranged a catch up with a friend but arranged to meet at home rather then a coffee shop so it will be much cheaper!
* One of the kids tried a new afterschool club today and loved it which was great as neither of them usually want to do anything extra at school. :money: because it was free
* Painted my nails whilst waiting at the school this afternoon, better then it sitting unused in the cupboard.
* Used one of many handcreams that I've been given, also using the end of an old pot of e45 on my elbows to use up
* Managed a nsd also
* Heating here is still just going on for 15 mins before dh is getting up in the morning, rest of the time I'm relying on jumpers/fleeces/blankets and candles to keep the costs down for as long as possible.
Right I think that's about it for now.
Have a lovely evening all.
Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

Evening all
Brrr cold today :eek:
Short list (again) today:
Potatoes and mushrooms from market instead of supermarket this morning - loads cheaper!
Checked banks, no surprises
HM meals from stores - I used up courgette and stilton soup from freezer for lunch
Interesting discovery for those who tend to get courgette mountains - I find they are rubbish if you blanch and freeze them, they collapse and go all slimy :eek: BUT a few weeks ago, I experimented with roughly chopping and roasting them with olive oil and herbs and then freezing, and got some out for dinner today. I partially defrosted them just so I could spread them about a bit in a small roasting tin, and heated them in the oven, and you honestly couldn't tell that they weren't freshly roastedI froze about 4 tubs of these, and next year I shall do more, as they are really good!
The usual packing and posting of ebay items, plus I listed a few moreNo sales yet today though!
Heating still restricted to the bathroom towel rail and little radiator in the airing cupboard for a few hours a day on the timer, all the other radiators are firmly switched off. With the woodburner to provide a bit of cheer in the evenings, this is still quite enough.
Wrote a shopping list for tomorrow
And that is about it - can't think of anything else - must do some housework tomorrow!0 -

Hi November Non-Spenders,
So I was lying in bed unable to sleep feeling bored sorry for myself because I have insomnia....then I have an epiphany: this isn't a problem, this is an opportunity! Get up Wee Geek and make the most of the time you have awake to sort your life out...
Debt Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Two:
* Checked broadband allowance.
* Checked DW's bank balances and good job I did one of fher accounts is down to 73p and I'm not sure she knows that!
* Checked Nectar Points balance.
* Checked my online banking.
* Found a new credit card company for a 0% loyalty card for spending. No debt to be run up on it. My current company had a terrible online banking site. Hope I'm accepted.
Live long, live well and prosper.

Well hello there my lovelies :wave:
I think we are going to have to succumb to the heating. :rotfl: It was pretty miserable last night. We no longer have a log burner so it's either that or an electric fire and we wouldn't want that now! It's annoying that the settee is right in front of the radiator in the living room but nowhere to move it to.... :think:
Ally - nice to see you. I hope you can find time to relax when you're not at work as you don't want to burn out!!
PF - have a good night :beer:
Here's me:
Porridge brekkie
Packed lunch
Leftovers for tea tonight
Posting something 2nd class - how did you know Bob :rotfl:
Sending my niece a postcard (2nd class of course!) - I do this rather than buying tat from our holiday - she loves getting things through the post :A
Check noddle report and update my geeky spreadsheet :cool:
Other thing I've just checked is my experian credit score (free as barclaycard customer) - 999 out of 999 for what it's worth :rotfl:
Called to find out the car situ - need to do a current a/c transfer for the remaining ~£5k I then have 2 years to pay it off at 0%. Seems better than getting another car loan...
Oooh, I got a rate reduction on my credit card and it seems to have been backdated because I now have +£8 on my cc :cool:
Need to sort YNAB - I've done mine (all £25 of it :rotfl: :eek:) so need OH to sort his. YNAB tells me we have £67 overall and we're due another £800 incoming this month so we 'should' be ok since the majority of our bills have already been paid...
Hmmm, lots going on today at work... must get a move on!
Happy Friday everyone! :beer:0 -
Morning DNMS - we cross-posted
Did you share your HM pot noodle recipe?? I will go see what I can find - sounds ace! :cool:

La e just Google home made pot noodle recipe. I've done 2. One very fancy, soy sauce, sweet chilli, garlic, sesame oil, spinach, sweetcorn, red peppers, ginger powder, chicken and noodes. I didn't cook any of the ingenious first except the chicken. And a plain old chicken and mushroom (with peppers) and sweetcorn with 1/4 chicken stock cube and a bit of soy sauce. This one I cooked all ingredients fried mushrooms and peppers. Let them cool then put in layers in a large jar. Oh adds soy sauce and stock with boiling water and then leaves for 3 minutes (lid screwed back on)DF as at 30/12/16
