    Morning all

Phew its Friday and my non working day! Didn't post yesterday as I was so blooming busy at work, so I understand CCL and Ally and all you busy people on here.

Katy Ann well done on your DVD hunt, I was so bored on my maternity leave waiting for the big day. Even if you do a little each day, that's great, your best to rest because you'll be run off your feet when the little one arrives! Enjoy this time.

    - Post 4 eBay parcels, recycling old packaging DONE
    - Research tyres on black circle and may be 2 others on cash back site and my local garage BLACK CIRCLE IS COMING OUT CHEAPEST AGAINST KWIK FIT AND TYRES ON THE DRIVE, but still have to call local garage today.

    - Find out how much I have left on SpaFinder vouchers CARDS INACTIVE NEED PROOF OF PURCHASE, MESSAGED SIS AS THEY WERE A GIFT FROM HER.
    - Research the cost of a taxi versus a hotel stay for works Christmas do. Might be able to wangle a hotel stay from work if I speak to one of the PA's or might ask a couple of people to share a taxi ride home. DONE _ TAXI AND IF I SHARE EVEN BETTER
    - Research the cost of a boxing day meal with my sis - its a tradition - been to Toby Carvery in the last 2/3 years but fancy a change this year - prices allowing! DONE I BOOKED VINTAGE INN. I CAN GET 10% OFF BY PURCHASING A GIFT CARD SO MUST REMEMBER TO DO.
    - Wash car - still haven't done it yet. HA, STILL GAVENT DONE ROLLOVER TO TOMORROW
    - Market research in town - DONE AND FREE SHOPPING

  • Thought I'd posted earlier, must have been one of those posts I drafted in my head but never typed :rotfl:

Anyway, today is 2 performances, so it will all be about that. However, I will also:
    Check banking, surveys and FPL
Research cheapest place for MIL Christmas gift - done, just need to order
Packed lunch and snacks to performance to avoid tuck shop, will leave purse at home
    Washing drying on airer inside
Rest of dry washing from week just gone put away
DH will fly lady downstairs whilst we are out
E mail company about my complaint when they only sent one pillow and I ordered a pack of two

Think that's about it. Enjoy fireworks if you are watching any. PF.
  • Hi all

Well I havent been around here for a while and I have well and truly fallen off the debt busting wagon, in fact in August and September we ended up spending quite a bit more than we earned. To try and put things right I have been doing extra hours in my second job, being really busy in my "proper" job and still doing 90% of the domestic stuff and quite honestly I am making myself ill.

So here I am with a new start. Have spent 3 hours this morning going through my finances and making plans. It doesnt look pretty but I feel so much better for it.

We have family coming to visit next weekend, DS1 is 18 in a couple of weeks, I have 5 family birthdays in November then there is December and all the present swapping nonsense. I am going to need help and support in bucketloads!

Hi Yorkshirelass, nice to hear from you. Good on you for jumping back on the wagon with us. :) Please take care of yourself before you burn out even if it is just fitting in an extra-long bubble bath. xxx

Welcome back Yorkshirelass I think that if you are watching the pennies, the pounds will look after themselves. At least you are getting back on the wagon, I'm sure you'll be fine with a few tips off here. LP

    Hi All,

    Nice relaxing Saturday for me.

    Bedroom and bathroom cleaned.

Just been to Aldi to do our weekly shop. £19.20. Sorted.

Time to curl up on the sofa for me with the heating on and a Dickens novel.

    Have a pleasant evening!

    Afternoon all :)
Not much achieved today (again :o) but I have an excuse this time - looked after GD for the day, she has just gone home
Had the heating on downstairs, as little one was here. Off it goes now though
Walked to post office this morning to give GD an outing and an escape from hiding toys 'kittens' in the cupboards and watching rubbish on my laptop. Posted a small ebay sale plus a RM surveys item. GD can now reach the post box if she stands on the ledge :)

Did some paperwork for business, not sure how that happened, but it did!
Dog walk, just got back, headed out as soon as GD had gone home (otherwise she insists on holding the lead, and then lets go of it, and the road is busy today )
Shifted some large stock items out of the boxes in the spare room to the shelves in the garage, out of the way :T
Not spent anything except for postage for ebay item, and the buyer paid for that (and it came in slightly under the stated amount, for a change!) Oh, and a chocolate frog at the sweetie shop :rotfl:

Feeling very lazy about cooking dinner (grandma'd out :o) so it will probably be jacket potatoes. OH is out and I have no idea when he will be back and if he will have eaten
  • Hi all,

It certainly hasn't been a NS week for us as we've been away on a cottage holiday and are now visiting family but I managed to spend only half of the spending money I'd saved. This has now been shifted into savings. We've got a four-hour drive home tomorrow morning then it'll be a case of sorting out the washing etc. and a quick trip to ALDI for the weekly shop. Planning lots of NSDs for the rest of the month so I'll be in the same boat as you Yorkshire!

Luckypenny Street life is ace. It's a national website where you are hooked up by your postcode so you see others in your neighbourhood. It's hyper local.
I don't do Facebook really except for the Business. I just find it a huge time stealer and all the constant push notifications are a pest. Thanks for your suggestions though.

Hi Yorkshire happy birthday to your DS. Sorry to hear you are doing 90% of the domestics though. Time for a stern word with your family?

Gosh I am a credit monkey - so far today I have been tempted by the car finance offers they sent me when I asked for a settlement figure, getting furniture on monthly payments because we need to sell our monstrosity 6 person dining table and getting a new kitchen on credit because ours is falling apart (literally) Need to get a grip!

In reality I should - settle car finance with 0% bal transfer and pay off before deal expires... sell our table and buy a table for the same price... wait until the summer and get a new kitchen when my bonus is paid...

Credit is too tempting sometimes - the promise of everything shiny and new in time for Christmas! :o

Must go have another coffee before I get the CC out!!!
