Don't worry Romylou - today is the last day you will see those numbers. Onwards and downwards. Good luck.

Hope you enjoyed the celebrations greentiger :T

Hope you all have a good week and get off to a good start with new challenge.

Am I right in thinking that if I have frozen raspberries and let them defrost naturally in the fridge they're still a speed food? It's only if I cook the, that they gain a syn value?
What if I microwave them to try and defrost them? Speed or syn?

The raspberries will be free [in my opinion] if you defrost them because you are effectively eating them in their natural state. Only if you "stew" them or they came out of a can with syrup would they be synned.

Thank you for the new thread. I'd like to join the challenge and would like to aim for 12 pounds
I've kind of got today planned but after a poor night's sleep (brain going a 100 miles an hour from about 1.30am so little/poor sleep) I'm worried this will scupper me as I feel tired and grumpy this morning.

I'll try to get back later and post my meal plan. Have a good day all x

  • Welcome ElusiveLucy, Romylou and chocmonsta!

Don't feel bad Romylou, as of now those numbers are in the past - just imagine where you'll be by Christmas!!

TopGirl I am so sorry for your loss. Be gentle with yourself.

Congratulations to you and your family Greentiger, great result!

Right, I'm back on the wagon for this challenge so will aim for a 12lb loss by Christmas please Shala. I agree with the others that you should be a consultant, you too Maman - you'd both be great!

Welcome back lantanna:j. Is this a new class you've joined?

Good to see you too gien. Does this mean you're back in the UK?:)

One positive romylou is that you should have some big losses to begin with which is very motivating. Do post your menus it'll help you get started.

Same with you FE. I find that having a plan really helps me stick with it especially as you can get sidetracked if you don't have anything suitable for eating at work. I agree about the raspberries mrsp. I'd count them as free and Speed. Microwaving is a bit of a tweak but at only 1 syn per 100g even pureed it's not going to make a lot of difference.

Thanks for the kind words betty. I'm happy to share my experiences on here. Losing weight has made me feel so good about myself I want others to share that feeling.:)

I'm going to have an angelic day today and tomorrow to offset a couple of meals out planned later in the week.

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, 2 boiled eggs, HEB toast, HEA for drinks (mostly)
L: cold meat, fried vegetables (inc. potato) and beetroot
    D: SW spaghetti Bolognese
    Syns: none

I'm going to have hot Ribena during the day to save some HEA for Parmesan with my pasta.

Morning everyone! Shala I'd love to lose 7lbs in this challenge! And I will lose it come hell or high water this time!

Had a lovely off plan weekend for our anniversary which consisted of lots of yummy food and drink (and a 4lb gain...). DH has surprised me with a trip back to Prague at the beginning of December. So I have 4 weeks to lose a bit, then it will all go back on that weekend probably, followed by another 4 weeks to lose it all again!

    Today's plan is -

    B - Porridge (HEB & 1/2 HEA), apple
L - Lentil and veg soup, clementines
D - Sausage stew (2.5 syns), cheesy mash (1/2 HEA) and veg
    S - Popcorn (2.5 syns), clementines

Hope everyone has a good day!
