    Evening

I managed 2 days of 777 but today wasn't so good, we had a meal at friends and I had 2 glasses of wine - the food was fine though so it wasn't too bad. I've also done some body magic today as I had a good walk this afternoon and then we walked to our friends and back (in the rain) which is 1km each way.

Well done for your loss Beanie. :T

Sorry to hear about your car gts, bad time of year for expensive repairs.

Flat Eric - it's a difficult time to stay on plan, too many temptations, but give yourself a pat on the back for trying to, lots of people have fallen by the wayside.

It's quiet on the thread at the moment but no doubt we will be hectic in a few weeks when everyone resolves to lose weight on New Year's Eve.

    Night all,

    LL :)

    Morning,

Well done Beanie on your loss!

Off to the xmas market tonight with Mother so trying to keep it light today, will most likely get some garlic mushrooms or a burger. When in Rome and all that...........

Hooray for Friday and a short week. Hoping for another one off tomorrow.

Going to a friends tomorrow for lunch and to play board games with some drinks and then back home to get my tree up tomorrow night - just haven't had a chance.

Only bits and bobs - mostly wine and chocolates etc to buy now all the main presents etc have been bought.

Donegal was good Maman, nice and relaxing! I did take a wobble on my first night there about going to get something to eat on my own, but had a glass of wine in the room and went down lol with my confident face on. Sat in the bar and had 3 drinks and hake with chickpeas & chorizo with veg - which I thought was a good choice considering what else was on the menu. I was quite happy listening to the xmas music and flicking through a few mags. No one seemed bothered I was there on my own. I went out the next day to a nearby town and wandered around the shops and had a baked potato in a caf!. I also did the beach and some scenic drives before it was time to come home. So all in all a good trip was had and now I am looking forward to my 4 nights in lanzarote after xmas!

Sounds like you had a good time Lantanna and did well to stay on plan most of the time!

Well last night that half bottle of wine was calling me and I couldn't resist but also had 4 syns worth of dark chocolate, so a few syns over for the day but happy with that.

    Today's another EE day:

B - scrambled eggs on toast
L - ham, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, beetroot, cornichons
    D - fish pie; cabbage

    Syns - wine

That sounds like a lovely break lantanna. It sounds relaxing and just what you need leading up to Christmas. I like the sound of the afternoon of board games too. I hope you get your 1lb in the morning to set the tone. :)

I think you're right that others aren't bothered, it's more about what goes on in our own heads. Until I started SW I'd never realised just how much weightloss/gain was linked to psychology. Of course it's the food that's the main issue but the reasons for self sabotage are many. I suppose it's what we mean by 'getting our heads in the right place' or being 'in the zone'. Encouragement from like minded friends helps too.:)

I've had my SW friendly breakfast (baked beans, bacon and HEB toast) and anything could happen for the rest of the day. We're out to lunch with friends. I've not seen the menu but although there will be choices we'll have three courses and wine syns so definitely off plan.

Have a good day all. It's mild but a bit dull here.:)
  • last nights result was +3lb. I would cry but it was well deserved after a hard few days of struggles and distractions!

If you are on the Fb group you may have seen my post - after my countdown ends (I have 5 weeks left I found out last night at group) I will most likely go it alone (well ok not alone as I have you guys ) and stop attending group - it started so well and the consultant was fab but as the weeks have gone on she has seemed less supportive and now I feel like I get dismissed when I have only a small loss or even a gain compared to others in the group so I am getting nothing from it (except less money in my bank!) plus its not just £4.95 for group in reality - it's magazines, and hifi bars and raffle tickets and journals etc which gets crazy and I did better outside of all that.

I am going to finish up my countdown and probably end up disappointed in myself with my results then start fresh in January. I want to lose 2 stone before my birthday in july which should be more than possible! (I have 29lb to lose to be at pre baby target from a few years ago and that's when I was truly happy with my weight). I am going to use the money saved by not going to group on a fitness dvd I've been eyeing up all year (and couldn't afford as the money was ear marked for group - that's how tight my budget is!) and a couple of other bits then save it up to try and pay my current car off early and have some extra saved up towards a new one in 18months/2 years time :)

Honestly don't know where a chunk of my money has gone this month but I am seriously scraping the barrel. we are supposedly getting paid next Friday so that we get it before Christmas but that makes it a 6 week pay month and I *think* we have a tournament in there to pay for/eat at too! need to work out some new ideas. I think I will meal plan and stick to it almost religiously

I feel your pain Lush, thankfully I changed to weekly pay about 2 years ago so I don't have that long January problem anymore. My Manager did forget to put the January wages through once and I had to go from the 21st of December until the 2nd oF February once until I was paid again.

He forgot a few more times until I exploded and transferred to weekly pay!

I would like 3 stone off for July and like yourself think that's doable, lets start the New Year with our heads in the right places.

    Hi all

I'm struggling to get into the Christmas spirit - I haven't got any decorations up yet and I still need to write cards. It doesn't help that it keeps raining as we usually decorate the outside as much as the inside. Anyway, there's plenty of time yet.

Lush - I think you've made the right decision about not going to group when finances are so tight. I question whether I can justify paying but the group I was going to was great fun as was the consultant. She only started this year so she's still very enthusiastic and she seemed genuinely disappointed when I told her I was leaving so I ended up promising to return in the spring when I get back to the uk. It doesn't sound like your consultant is any help when she doesn't give you any advice or support when you're struggling.

Lantanna - I used to spend a lot of time staying in hotels alone in a former job and initially I was concerned about eating alone so I'd order room service if I could. Then when I finally braved the dining room, nobody took any notice and there were always others doing the same. I have a widowed friend who belongs to a singles travel club for people who want to travel alone but in a group and she goes all over the world.

Today is going to be 777 - we've got a rare evening in, no socialising, and although it goes against the grain to watch Graham Norton sober, there will be no wine Syns today!

Have a good day everyone and a great weekend.
