It could be you've toned up but built muscle. I don't remember the scientific explanation but it can happen when you start exercising. It'll balance off.

    .

Hubby did warn me that it might happen but I was sort of hoping he was talking rubbish lol

Thanks Shala I reached target in August 2015, lol just in time for my 70th Birthday, better late than never but still wish I`d known about slimming world all the years I faffed around with grapefruits, cabbage soup etc.

Weigh in this week and its plus half a pound
I was hopeful for a maintain and the scales flickered... but it was not to be. Never mind. Its my own fault. I will try to stick to plan this week and not go off the rails.

My menu plan for today is:

    Breakfast: HEB toast and marmite.
    Snacks: Grapefruit and blueberries.
    Lunch: Home made tomato soup.
Tea: Lamb shank 2.5 syns served with veg and a few baby potatoes

Syns in the lamb shank and may be a Yorkshire pudd :) Will try to resist the mini pack of cookies (6 syns) and will also try to avoid the wine syns tonight (Wednesday usually involves wine syns).

I hope everyone has a good day. Out of interest (and sorry for the off topic) but has anyone got an amazon prime membership? I was thinking of asking for a membership subscription for Christmas buts its on offer until Friday and I'm tempted to sign up.

  • Hi Flat Eric, I just signed up to the free trial yesterday as I thought it'll be handy in the run up to Christmas, plus there wasn't the usual option of 'free saver delivery' so I had to in order to get any free delivery at all. I noticed that they now charge month by month which is a lot better than the massive one off yearly fee that I got stung for a few years ago. I think it now includes Amazon TV doesn't it?

Meg, I know that was only a couple of sentences but I found it really inspiring - the thought of looking back on wasted time is very powerful to me.In fact I look back on this whole year thinking if only I could have just stuck to it I'd be at target by now.

Speaking of sticking to it :o:o:o - yesterday didn't go to plan at all, lunch was a SW ready meal (Med Pasta), then I snacked on nuts all afternoon planning my Spanish class. When that finished at 9pm I was hungry but resisted the McD's drive thru next door and the one near home and just had Oxo and crackers for supper and went straight to bed. Not a lot of speed for the day but certainly under my Syns.

Does anyone else have Oxo and crackers, ie a beef Oxo cube with hot water in a mug with a couple of cream crackers broken into it like big soggy croutons? I thought it was a northern thing but everyone I mentioned it to lately looks at me like I'm mad so maybe it's just my family :rotfl: Anyway it's very tasty, like a big mug of gravy :D

So today's plan will be as yesterday's -

    B - Fruit
D - Bacon, potatoes, mushrooms, tomatoes and egg
T - Baked sweet potato and chilli

    Hugs to all xx

All the talk about rice pudding over the last few days has made me want some! so I'm going for a Green day so that I can use my 2nd HEA of milk to make some for pudding tonight.

    Today's plan then is:

    B - mushroom omlette
L - jacket potato with baked beans
D - mixed bean goulash (from freezer) with rice; followed by rice pudding - probably a bit overload of rice but it's what I fancy

    HEA1 & 2 - milk
    HEB1 & 2 - no idea at the moment!
Syns - not decided yet but have mini party rings 5.5; Snack a Jack 2.5 and chocolate! so probably have something

    hello everyone

my mouse stopped working! so very annoying when techno goes wrong..it goes straight up and it goes straight down but it won't go anywhere else:mad:

B Porrige and muller light, black coffees
L SW mini quiches and salad of beetroot, watercress, cucumber, peppers, and cherry tomatoes
D lentil and ham soup, (onions, lentils, garlic, gammon steak)
S Probably a muller light and fruit

yesterday instead of a muller light I had Fage ?Total LF plain yoghurt but looking at the label it appears to have just about as much sugar as the muller light?

Hugs to all, don't give up!
  • -11/2Lbs for me this morning.
    Really happy about that.
Can't decide what to eat today. Children are having pizza at tea time and hubby away for work. I have som leftover bans risotto for lunch but might eat that at dinner and have bacon and egg for lunch. We'll see.
Got a mountain of ironing to do so will get on with that whilst I ponder.

:T well done midge. That's a good loss, no wonder you're pleased.

That's not a bad gain considering FE. It really is worth being firm with yourself and then you can relax a bit when you get to target. I try my best to keep wine syns for weekends and you have to prioritise your treats. Personally I wouldn't want cookies but I know it's either wine syns or crisps or cheese. Wine always wins.;)

Flutterby, that was an appalling thing for your consultant to say. It's none of her business if you choose to take your DS to swimming lessons and I agree so called Image Therapy can be incredibly boring and monotonous. I'd favour sharing tips and trying to problem solve (like we do on here) in that session but IMO few consultants either have the skills or the freedom to stray from the SW blueprint. I'd suggest you leave the group after your countdown ends, try going it alone for a few weeks and if you find it difficult then join another.:)

:T meg on your inspiring post. It does prove that people who say that putting on weight cant be avoided when you're older are talking rubbish!

So today's plan will be as yesterday's -

    B - Fruit
D - Bacon, potatoes, mushrooms, tomatoes and egg
T - Baked sweet potato and chilli

    Hugs to all xx

You don't seem to have planned any HEXs tete? You'll maybe get away with yesterday if you didn't eat much overall but (and I know I always say this) Speed is very important.

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, HEB porage with HEA milk
L: probably a veggie omelette and pickles
D: SW chilli (onions, carrots, peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes, courgette) with rice and cottage cheese
    Syns: squirt of syrup

Change of plan for lunch! Decided it's not a good idea to have baked beans at lunchtime and then mixed beans for dinner! So going to have the rest of the lentil & carrot soup!
