    HEA - milk
    HEB - porridge

:T to chocomonsta, lantanna and greentiger and kim on your losses.

I find it's hard not to go a bit mad at weekends. The reason I bank syns is to have something to look forward to come the end of the week. The downside is I spend the rest of the week reining in but I can live with that as it suits my lifestyle.:)

I made a lovely soup last night for lunches this week. First I boiled some red lentils with chicken stock cubes, dried mixed herbs. Then I added in roughly chopped red onion, then cubed butternut squash.
I let it come back to boil, then I simmered it for a while.
Then I turned heat off & left on stove overnight.
I added some lazy garlic & lazy chilli in the morning & blitzed with a blender stick.
It's lovely. I had some ready chopped mango & a couple of (small) yogurts for lunch.

I had weetabix, banana & skimmed milk for breakfast.

I'm having jacket pot, pork chop, peas, corn, carrots & green beans for dinner.

Is that enough veg for one day!!!

What you've described is an Extra Easy day kim when a third of your food (official SW is each meal but I tend to look across the day) should be Speed. That's why shala said you haven't had enough veg (i.e. Speed veg or fruit). Your soup is an EESP (Extra Easy Speed and Protein) meal which is great but unless you have a complete day of EESP (no free food like yogurt, potato and banana and 50:50 Speed and Protein) then you're doing EE and must have the third of Speed veg. IMO having peas (lots of protein and fibre) is healthier than things like, say, pasta but it's still not Speed food. It is hard to get your head around it all at first. Do ask if there's anything you need to know. Good luck with your first shiny:).

I looked up Albacete lois, and you've made good progress down through Spain. Hope the sun shines on you very soon. I checked and it's going to be about 20 degrees in Alicante later in the week.:D

I've occasionally helped with the shop but that's been voluntary to help out so didn't expect more than a thank you. I don't know if the regular WI and money people get any perks but I agree the groups couldn't run without the social team. This is especially obvious when there are any new members as the consultant is tied up when the WI is going on. AFAIK it's up to the consultant if they spend any of their own money on running the group. We have a self funding raffle and SoW is all donated so the consultant doesn't pay out anything other than what they pay to SW.

I had this Sainsbury's High Juice grapefruit for breakfast this morning. It's a bit more expensive than some but the closest I've had a to fruit juice taste. Not as sweet as many.

I'll be a bit off plan today but not too bad.

    EE menu:
B: NAS grapefruit, baked beans, HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks
L: cold meat, fried veg, pickles
D: carvery (no Yorkshire, plenty of Speed, and as few potatoes as possible)
Syns: as little as I can get away with:o

Back on plan until Saturday lunchtime after today.:)

Hi, this will be my menu for today Tuesday..

Breakfast. Branflakes A/B strawberries, raspberries and frozen blueberries

Lunch. Vegetable broth, ham B sandwich 6 Syns clementine.

Dinner.. jacket potato A cheese and beans, salad Apple.

    Extra 2 Ryvita 3 Syns
    9 Syns.
  • Good afternoon to all you beautiful people!

    Well done to sotw winners!

    Food today -

B - weetabix (hexb) with milk (hexa)
L - ham salad - lettuce, cucumber, peppers, onions, maybe a boiled egg thrown in for good measure.
D - sw lasagne (minus the weird sauce bit), so basically bolognese with some lasagne sheets.. Probably with some salad again.

Snacks - cheesestring (other half of hexa), Apple, and not sure on Syns yet. I'll saving them for after weigh in which is at 7 tonight.. So won't get home until about 9 as our group takes an age to talk about the rubbish they want to talk about (not rubbish but not really sw.. I feel like it doesn't need to last as long as it does)!

    Wish me luck! Xx

First weigh in tonight & 4lb off :-)

Set a target of 3lb for next week & that will be my first sticker :-)

So the soup is pretty much all speed food, with lentils P food.

If only the carrots & green beans are speed aren't the peas & maybe corn P foods?

I must read up more on SP.

I'm greatful for any help, thank you.

You're right that peas and (I think) corn are P foods, and that's important if you're trying to do an EESP (Extra Easy Speed Protein) day, however as you had a jacket potato and a banana, you had an Extra Easy day so the peas and corn are Free food.

    Hope that helps.

    Hi all

We're back in our 2nd home, everything is unpacked and the wifi is working, yippee! We're out for a meal tonight with friends which will be the 6th day of eating out, I'll have to remind myself how to cook... :rotfl:

Tomorrow is definitely going to be Day One, I'm determined to really get back on track and make this work. Regardless what the scales say tomorrow I want my total weight loss to have exceeded 4 stone by Christmas so I may adjust my target accordingly.

Well done Ruby and Eskimo for SOTW, and well done to everyone posting weight losses. :T

    Back soon, battery's running low.

If I were you lush I'd have the cottage pie tonight and cook the stew. I think stew always tastes better the next day and it'll be easy for you when you get back from work. I've got it on the menu for later in the week. We need something like that to keep out the cold (except for lois of course :p).

I did in the end :) had cottage pie for tea and there's some left over that I'll have tonight and brought the stew/casserole to work for lunch (max 2 syns a portion if I only get 3 portions) need to make a bigbatch of leek and potato soup. might do that tonight.

today: breakfast; cup of tea before work. packed fruit for brekkie but no chance to eat it before my 9 am meeting :(
lunch: stew: casserole beef, 2 syn for casserole mix (6 in a sachet so overestimating per portion) with swede, carrot, celery, onion added red cabbage, pickled onion, beetroot when eating
mid afternoon: alpen light (1/2heb) and a Robinsons sugar free jelly (made from a packet, 2.5 syns in the sachet, made 5 so 0.5 each) small cookie 2.5syn
    tea: cottage pie leftovers/stew (2)
will munch on my fruit this evening/ not holding out hope for weigh in on Thursday. feeling despondent

That soup sounds lovely Kim Kim, I have all of those ingredients in the cupboard so am going to make it tonight ready for lunch tomorrow :-)

Glad you've arrived safe and sound Lois, have a lovely evening.

Thank you for adding me to the challenge shala If I hit my initial target anytime soon I'll up my goal.

I had a lovely NSV today when I friend texted to say she'd seen me walking to school with the kids,(she was in her car) and didn't recognise me because of my weightloss (and my new coat I reckon!) Really made my day :)
