I'll be honest, I normally eat a larger meal before I go to work but hadn't really cooked much on my last set of days off and couldn't really bothered to cook anything! I am rather hungry now but it's bed time for me for a few hours.. I'm shattered!

    Morning all

Just skim read the last couple of pages to catch up with you all as I haven't had much time for a couple of days. We got back to Devon yesterday, just for one night before heading off to Spain so internet access is going to be uncertain for the next few days.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend and I'll check in again when I can.

    LL :)

P.s. Can't end without saying well done Bettyboof for your great weight loss, that's the sort of amount new joiners lose! :T

  • Sorry I don't have time to read through the whole thread but hello to all and good luck on the Christmas challenge!

I must confess I have flirted with another. A friend has just joined a radical "Lose 20lbs in six weeks" challenge at a local gym and I was so amazed by that claim that I went along to the info session on Thursday evening. The idea is you pay a £200 deposit but get it back if you lose the 20lbs - good incentive. But then I heard what the diet plan consists of and NO WONDER you lose that amount, you'd probably lose the will to live too. You have to stick rigidly to the diet they prescribe in the amounts they prescribe (same for everyone?!?!), NO coffee or tea (not even decaff or fruit tea), and NO alcohol (in DECEMBER!!!). I thought "What am I doing? I already have a gym membership which offers way more choice of classes and times and has a pool, and I know of a food plan that I enjoy and that works!" So here I am back again, but I am feeling motivated by having been to that talk, and I kind of want to prove that you can lose weight without absolutely beasting yourself like that.

So I'm sorry I'm late to the challenge and for being a PITA Shala! I weighed in on Friday so my starting weight is 12st 10 (only 4lb off my highest ever :o) and I'm aiming to lose 11lb in the seven remaining weeks to take me below 12st please.

I don't want to leave the house today as it's peeing down and I'm painting the kitchen, so brunch will be kippers with a load of mushrooms that are slowly turning to mush in the fridge, and maybe a carrot and potato waffle or two to pad it out. Tea will be something from the freezer, there's plenty of speedy chillis and curries in there at the mo. I'll make a proper meal plan later and do a big shop tomorrow.

    Have a lovely Sunday everyone!

Tete never heard of carrot & potato waffle. Do you buy them or make them? If you make them can you post the recipe please? Thanks.

LL - going back to Spain always seems to come round really quickly. Have a safe journey. Do you get ferry direct to Spain or do you do one of the other ferries or Eurotunnel? Don't fancy the Spain ferry myself - far too long on a boat for me!

    Today's plan:

B - SW fry up; 1 slice of crustless bread
L - HM veg soup; 1 slice of crustless bread - off to make the soup shortly!
D - roast pork, roast potatoes, roasted peppers, onions, carrots & courgettes, cabbage & cauliflower. Splash of gravy 0.5 syn. Apple sauce 1 syn
S - slice toast with laughing cow cheese triangle 1 syn

    HEA - milk
    HEB - bread
Syns - gravy 0.5; apple sauce 1; laughing cow 1

Over on syns since WI so no wine syns tonight. Will probably drink hot Ribena Winter Spice instead.

    Have a good day everyone.

    Denise
  • They're from Asda joedenise - these ones - I think they worked out at something like 4 syns for three but at least they have a bit of speed in and they're a nice addition to a grilled brekkie which is one of my SW staples :D

  • Hi everyone

I had a look at the Muller lights and according to the Sugar Smart app the vanilla and dark chocolate sprinkles one contains 2.9 sugar cubes (11.7 grams total sugar). I seem to be having one for breakfast on my porridge, (40 g made with water) and I usually have another one after my main meal in the evening.

B SW quiche and small amount of baked beans, 2 blk coffees
    L SW spicy parsnip soup
D Sirloin steak, carrot and swede mash and mushrooms but may go out for a carvery and stick to meat and lots of veg - no gravy

I have not weighed myself since last official weigh in (Monday) so no clue how I have done yet.

I take my measurements once a week and there has been a v slight reduction in those.

I also watched the obese postmortem thing and found it fascinating and disgusting all at the same time.
  • Morning everyone

Wow betty that's an amazing loss well done :T

Ended up with 19.5 syns yesterday oops, as OH went to the chippy for his lunch and the portions were so massive he left half of his chips which I had with my tea (13 syns for half a portion of chips is totally insane - but I had them and mmm they were yummy). Still under for the week so far though so not worried.

    Today's food:

B - scrambled eggs on toast (HEB plus 5 syns as its big bread), 2 cuppas and a satsuma
L - sausage casserole made with chopped toms & baked beans, mash & sprouts - going to give these asda sausages a go as the LL 5 syns ones were yuck :(
T - normally a fry up on a Sunday eve but I've had eggs earlier today so will see what I fancy later

Pouring with rain today so don't know what I'm upto. Might have a walk later on to squeeze in body magic if this rain ever stops

    Have a fab sunday everyone
