Weighed in today and the early morning swims obviously paid off.....2 1/2lbs off meaning a total of 1st 1 1lb lost.
Really pleased with that.
Also had my Christmas cook book - going to try the jambalaya tonight and if I'm feeling really ambitious I might even try the biscotti recipe as well!
Abbafan I know what you mean about the character of the leaders - to me that makes or breaks a diet!!!!0 -
Those sausages from Asda , are they dry or are they really nice and tasty?
I am funny about sausages in case they have fat or gristle.
I have those asda sausages in my freezer as someone on instagram mentioned they were really nice, so looking forward to trying them.
I'm the same wiz I'm really fussy about sausages. Richmond ones are yummy but they're hugely synful  Making it my aim to find some tasty sausages that are low in syn and don't make me worried that I'm going to find some gristle or fatty bits every 10 secs
I also have Live Lean sausages in the freezer, but silly moo that I am bought the higher syn ones by accident (5 each ) so might palm them off on OH and have the lower ones myself, so sneaky
Today's food:
B - overnight oats, toffee mullerlight, strawberries & a satsuma, 2 cuppas
L - leftover cottage pie, SW wedges (totally obsessed with them at the mo) and veg
T - LL chicken burger (0.5 syn) with mash & veg
Not sure on syns yet, but might spend 3 on a can of G & diet T as I haven't had a proper drink for ages0 -

Ingredients
50g shelled pistachio nuts
200g plain flour 1tsp reserved for dusting
1/2 tsp baking powder
2 tbsp sweetener granules
50g dried figs chopped into small pieces
2 medium eggs plus 1 yolk
Finely grated zest of 1 large unwaxed lemon
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
How many syns do these work out at? Looks like they might be quite high with nuts & flour in them!

Every meal contains one of these carbohydrates.

Supper Baked potatoe with chicken and salad
Syns will use with the the odd biscuit0 -
wanderr - I wouldn't worry about having carbs at all meals, I usually do too. I think as long as you don't go overboard on portion size it shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks for that recipe meg  and thanks gettingthere really appreciate you typing it out! I have a couple of things to try for the taster next week now.flutterbyuk25 wrote: »I was told you should fill up on free food not syn free food. Syn free food should be a treat not daily. Easier said than done though!
This makes sense, I think the consultants should explain this better in class, especially back in the day when mug shots and the like were 0 syns and members were eating loads because they were "free".
We just finished watching the autopsy of the obese person, anyone else watch it? I am morbid, yes, but I hoped it would be educational or scare me into eating healthier. It did a little but it could have been a much better, hard hitting program than they made it into.

I watched it. I agree, it could have been harder hitting. I have gone off custard though (the thick stuff in trifles) with all that solid yellow stuff. It was interesting though and is just something else to keep my weight down - I don't want a poor mortuary technician struggling to lift my offal:D:D

I saw a bit of it too (was tired so decided an early night was called for) but I find everyone has their own motivation to lose weight and if I hadn't been in the right frame of mind even the most successful diet on the planet wouldn't get me to lose weight.
Having the jambalaya from the Christmas book tonight and being a very good girl having no alcohol watching the rugby - am determined to keep this motmenum going!0
