Back from WI and tasters for us this morning as well. Didn't eat much, mainly fruit, a Mikado stick & a marshmallow plus a couple pieces of the chocolate brownies I took. Total of 2.5 syns.
Bettyboof - I just do a basic leek and potato soup using a bit more potato to leek.
Start off by softening some onion, I usually cook it in a bit of veggie stock (using a stockpot); add the sliced leeks and soften those as well. Meanwhile boil some potatoes and once cooked, drain & add to the onions & leeks; add more stock and then cook for a while. Once cooled down blend to the consistency you like.
When you want to eat it just reheat in a pan.
WI didn't go as well as I hoped as I'd had a good week and ended up with STS - still it's better than a gain but it means yet another week of having to pay!!!
Today's plan:
B - tasters at group 2.5 syns
L - spaghetti, clams in a mediterean sauce (from Iceland) it was very nice but 7 syns for 1/2 pack:eek:
D - chicken traybake with aubergine, courgette, carrots, peppers. Will also do some brussel tops & brocolli.
HEA - milk
HEB - not sure, maybe some toast or Ryvita with Laughing Cow (1 syn)
Syns - 9.5 or 10.5 if I have some supper

I don't enjoy taster events either. I'm veggie so there's not much choice for me. That said I didn't know about this week's one as I was on hols last week. I was breastfeeding the baby when everyone went up for food so wasn't gonna have anything but loads of people offered to fetch me a plate so I had a few bits, mainly fruit though!
I tend to make veggie friendly things (baked oats, wheatbran cake, oat 'biscuits') because quite a few of our group bring savoury dishes with meat or fish in. I'm a carnivore but I can be particular about the way my meat is cooked but also don't think it's fair to veggies not to have something new to tryI think we are very lucky at our class.
It is very social & we all get on well.
So the tasters are good fun
My current group is really good for tasters; the consultant brings in a new release branded product with syns and one unexpected low syn item that's easy to prepare. and tehn there's always a good variety of both sweet and savoury dishes. I tend to stay away from the 'cheesecakes' etc as I don't think they are worth the syns - I'd rather syn an actual decent sized piece of the real thingI like it though because I get ideas of things I could actually make. my old group years ago everyone always brought in exactly the same thing every tasters session and it was just so blah!
I haven't stopped today! so food has all changed:
pre work: half a cup of tea with milk from hea (littlie had the other half sneakily)
breakfast at work: 1 alpen light (half heb) and a coffee (milk from hea)
lunch: mugshot (free) aldi yogurt (free)
mid afternoon: melon and satsuma
pre group if needed: 2 finger kit kat (5.5syn)
tea: tasters at group plus a can of 'free' pop. I've not had much fizzy drink this week so it's nice to have one at group and it's a 'treat'. If I'm honest I don't often syn tasters at group because I try a little bit of whatever take smy fancy then straight back on it.
tomorrows rough plan:
breakfast: scrambled egg and beans of toast (can make this at work if delayed)
lunch: something with chicken and salad in it
mid afternoon: fruit - no carrot cake as our accounts manager is ill again so I'm alone in the office and they come in packs of two so if I buy it I'll just eat both!
tea: not 100% sure. we are off to the caravan for a couple of nights so potentially something en route
I'll get some heb bars for at the caravan, will drink nas squash/free pop and add speed where possible to meals. we will be back mid sunday afternoon as its our nieces bday party sunday evening. rough meal plan: Saturday brekkie bacon sandwiches, lunch out, tea: potentially something and chips for the others. I will take some carrots, potato, tomatoes and cooked chicken. sunday breakfast - not sure either same again or porridge, lunch - most likely out. will make good choices. tea - there will probably be food at the party but I'll hold off (take fruit) and eat an omelette when home after. that's the plan anyway************************************

Candyapple I feel like I have been losing the same four pounds for a while now so did exactly what you are doing this week and went back to basics. I was cross at myself because if I had lost 2lbs per week steadily instead of all this faffing about I'd be another stone down by now! BUT no point in looking back, let's start again from now and look forward to the next weigh-in. Writing things down really helps me as I know I forget a few syns if I don't. We can do this!
Thanks joedenise, that sounds super easy, I'll make some for lunch tomorrow, Do you think it would taste okay with some bacon added?0 -
Maman my sausages were 97 cal each they were Richmond Irish frozen sausage. I checked every sausage at Asda and they were the lowest skinless were 66 cal lower still. On cooking them there was hardly
any fat in the container which I had cooked them in.:)0 -

I often add chopped up bacon to my leek and potato soup, either just before eating of after I've liquidised it:drool:

The only frozen Richmond Irish sausages I can see on the website are 4 syns each.

Hi can I join the online fat club :-)
I joined up with SW on Monday - got the shock of my life at weigh in :-(
I'm making a really healthy soup in a big batch for lunches.
I'd like to use the slimming world ready meals on nights when I'm exhausted from work (& would normally have got a take away!).
Are there any "rules" to the meals?
Proportions anything like that? I guess you add rice, jacket, whatever on the side. Rules for that?
I'd like to follow SP is it possible to do that & use SW ready meals?0 -
Welcome Kim kim to the thread.
You can use the SW ready meals. There aren't really any "rules" with the ready meals but it's suggested that each pack serves 2 along with Speed foods (veg). A few of the ready meals are SP friendly but of course if you want to do SP then you can't have rice, jacket, pasta etc with it. You'll need a full half plate of Speed foods.
HTH.

So lesson learnt - don't weigh yourself between classes! - I actually lost 2.5lb this week even though my home scales said i'd gained last night!!
Sorry for whinging yesterday. I did make sure I didn't eat anything heavy today to make sure I had a bit of a loss and haven't drank anything since 2pm (dehydration Thursday is back:rotfl:)
Managed to get my 1.5stone award and OH got to target with a total loss of 8 stone 4 loss :T
This week definitely going to follow all the advice on here so I don't put that weight back on, thank you ladies - more water, more speed, less bread/cereals, measure healthy extras and keep count of syns. (i'm not listening to the bit about exercise though :rotfl:)candyapple wrote: »Maybe I need to hire someone to follow me around and slap all of the bad foods out of my hands :rotfl:
