  • I phoned up on the same day I got my new card through (and posted about this on the freebies board). At first, I was offered a treat over an hour's drive away (over the phone, as the website wasn't working then). After some messing about, I was told I could have a pamper treat in a town 10 miles from me. I accepted this. Nothing came. Called again and was told they'd email me out the pamper treat coupon. Got a day out coupon. Called back and was told they'd sort it out for me. Today, I got a voucher for the pamper treat I'd asked for.

    Don't ring the 08whatever number. Use: 01792 645800 instead. That's TLC Swansea.

I applied for a reiki massage or manicure but got a gym pass for a gym about 40 mins away, am annoyed cos to me the gym is NOT pampering! Also there are at least four gyms closer to my home!! Not amused!!
  • I asked for a sphereing adventure but got a day out. :-(

I called the nectar helpline (on 020 72096355) and asked to be transfered to the treat line. They were busy but someone called me back within 5 mins.

He said that because the nearest sphereing was over a certain distance away, the system automatically chooses something closer!?!, but he said he could bypass the system and within 2 mins I got another email with the voucher i wanted!!!

    very helpful!

  • Hi,

Nectar have sent us the following in regard to the problems booking treats:

    A message from Nectar, 10th October 2007:

We are aware of the postings on the site and would like to address some of the comments about our ‘free treats’ offer.

At the beginning of September we started sending new cards to our active collectors and as part of this activity we offered a free treat within this mail pack as a way of saying thank you to our cardholders.

The free treats have been very popular so, even though they are replenished every week, there may be occasions when some treats aren’t available. The treats are allocated at the time of request, based on local availability. This means that it’s not straightforward to notify you ahead of time whether your first or second choice is available – but if it isn’t, we’ll send you an alternative free treat which we’ll hope you’ll enjoy.

We continue to work to improve the delivery of the free treat and the following measures have been put in place to deal with demand including:
    • spreading the mail-out even more, so that people respond to the offer at different times
    • increasing the supplies of the most popular treats where possible
    • putting on more staff at our call centre to deal with increased calls
If, for medical reasons, the alternative free treat we offer is not suitable then please feel free to call us and we will change it for you.

We would also like to reassure you that the 0845 number we ask you to call is a standard rate line. Calls cost a maximum of 4p per minute from a BT landline. Calls from mobiles and other networks may vary, please check with your provider for costs per minute.

Nectar takes your comments seriously and hopes this addresses some of your concerns.

Its a big fob off and a con, I have had to ring again to chase up a voucher and got the usual spill of not having any in stock and only having gym passes and days out vouchers, they cant tell me when they will get any more I just have to ring up again

I have received the treat of my choice today! (after getting a 'day out' and sending a letter of complaint, and guess what...

I have to travel 30 miles to another town (that's well out of my way)the salon to get it!

I doubt I will be doing that.

Why on earth cant they give me somewhere nearer? There are LOADS of salons much nearer than that!

What a total wash out this has turned out to be!
