Had my shopping delivered Friday and ordered some Fresh Cod Loin. Got called into work yesterday at a moments notice ( overtime ) and was going to have the Cod Loin yesterday but had soup instead.
Am doing Sunday dinner today so can I cook the Cod Loin today and save it for lunch tomorrow and Tuesday, slight caveat os that it says Use By 17th Sept.
I always get confused on Best Before, Use By etc etc

Use-by equals cook-by. Cook it today if you're worried but I'd be quite happy to cook it tomorrow. Trust your sense of smell. If it's been properly refrigerated since it was bought I'd not fear it will be old or stale by tomorrow.0

Golly gosh! I had to look up cod loin, I'd never heard of it and the thought of a cod having loins is mind boggling.
Anyway I agree, smell will sort it for you, I would have no problem eating this today.0 -

I'd sniff it first, and if there was no nasty niff, I'd defo eat it (then again, it wouldn't have lasted beyond Friday!:))
If it had been bought chilled, you'd probably have at least 3 days until the use by date.0 -
Dont they go all soggy and drippy after a couple of days.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
It was frozen, then kept in the fridge, it was the last slice, and it had retained its shape and looked like it did when i first opened it. But better safe than sorry! I'd left it for my OH but he didn't eat it . What a waste!Weightloss: 18lbs/28lbs (Start weight: 11st, Current 9st 10)

I'd have eaten it if it didn't smell funny. If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0
