How you define an uncooked lentil?
Just made some moussaka and the recipe has lentils in it, they simmered in the sauce for 20 mins, then i reheated them, then grilled the whole thing. The lentils are still a teeny bit hard - they still have shape and texture...but i've only ever blitzed them in soup....do they sound cooked? am i going to poison myself?
My dinner tastes yummy and i don't want to stop eating it.....Annual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500

are they old? the older pulses become, the more effort it takes to cook them.... they should have cooked down by now..... i don't know why they haven't... they shouldn't be poisonous!0

You will be fine, sometimes i leave them like that, they might just be a bit old. The main problem with Iceland frozen cheesecakes is after a few hours the base goes soggy and the topping can start to disintegrate. it still tastes the same but the texture is wrong.
There's very little (if any ) chance of nasties unless you have stored it badly. The best portion of your life will be the small, nameless moments you spend smiling with someone who matters to you.0 -
Oh yeah we'd eat it. I am convinced they only put the dates/advice on to frighten me into throwing it away and buying another. I'm casual about sell by/best before/use by dates, and no-ones ever been ill.
I bought mature cheddar with a use by date of 5 days.... It sits around maturing for 3 straight years and then it's going to go off the second I unpack it in my kitchen? I don't think so."There is no substitute for time."
