I think starting a relationship takes alot of effort and adjustment. I don't think I could be bothered. Not the most romantic reason but it is how I feel.

  • I am in my 50s and never married....part of me still holds out a somewhat forlorn hope that someone will come along and love me!....ruling out a widower would really reduce my chances of ever finding someone! So I'm hoping some eligible widower would answer the OP's question with a 'yes'!

I don't think widowers look to replace their lost soulmate, I think its to fill a great void and emptiness and loneliness that's left. I also think that the love of your life would not want you to spend the rest of your life alone, obviously depending on your age. I know It would be hard to imagine a life with someone else, but you would not be replacing your loved one, and you could still be happy without the feeling of guilt. Its probably something you would never discuss with your other half, but maybe you should, or ask yourself if it something happened to you would you want your husband/wife/partner to move on, or would you want them to mourn your loss alone for the rest of their lives?

    Someone will.

And it will happen when you least expect it.

There's nothing wrong with living alone, most people have family, friends or animals.

Never been married and never will marry...

But someone did come along when I least expected it and I know I will never love anyone as much as I loved that person, or connect and feel so at one in all ways... utterly irreplaceable:(....

but that does not mean I couldn't love again....it's just impossible to imagine .....
If you want somebody you can trust...trust yourself
