Thriftlady - just back from Aldi, its still 68p there, for how long though, i don't know. I picked up 10 packs, just in case. Its their blended butter, so the elcheapo stuff. Its fine for what i want it for, i put a little bit in when i make bread, and so on - for spreading on toast etc, i use a healthy marg spread. Anyway, i just checked the pack for you, it doesn't say if it was made in the UK or anything like that, it just has a little UK/EC circle on the base with a number in, J something or other. does that help any?

probably not, no, but its aldi.. *shrug*. i can't afford to have principles, sadly, or i'd be doing the same. According to mysupermarket sainsburys is still retailing at 68p, so it might be worth popping out later to get some, or maybe try morrisons, i don't know what you have around where you live..?

Just done Mr T myself and lurpak has gone up ANOTHER 16% - it's now £1.29 for 200g :(

I also noticed that their value veg stir fry mix (beansprouts, carrots, cabbage etc.) which used to be 69p is now £1.00.

I noticed in my local Morrisons that their 250g tubs of Kerrygold reduced fat butter was on offer for 58p (50p cheaper than normal). Hope this helps someone.

Has anyone else noticed that a lot of the milk is now being sold in 2 litre carton instead of 4 pints which represents another 10% decrease in what we're getting.
Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!

Well - about time serious consideration was given to our food supplies on the one hand v. on the other hand this had better not be a "trojan horse" to try and push a bit harder for genetically-modified food AGAIN. (how many ways do we have to make it plain to the Government we dont want GM food!)

Why are eggs so expensive now? Has production been reduced? I always buy free-range and I don't want to buy battery ones so I'm buying them less often.
