    OUCH!!!!!

Thankfully I usually pay £2 for 2x2litre milks from Sainsburys.. or £3 for 3x3litre ones.

Bread I just massively stocked up on flour for the bread maker.. the flour has incread in price by about half.. the tesco value flour was about 21p at ours and is now 48p.. the tesco bread flour was 49p and is now 63p.. so I stocked up for christmas and now.

We use margarine so hopefully that should be ok??

I might have to stock up on more flour though before that goes up more!!

We use 2 loaves and 6 pints of milk a DAY!! So this kind of thing really hammers us.

    Oh great - Not

I've noticed butter going ridiculous, about a week ago it was 55p in Morrisons and now gone up past 70p, milk's gone to £1.96 for 6 pinter in Asda, used to do 2 for £3 We're considering having the milk delivered from the milkman (well it's the dairy farmers of britain place) but wanted to know the price beforehand

Bread is downright stupid price so think I go back to homebaking (although I do it by hand as I've not got a breadmaker)

There is another thread about this. Due to adverse weather and the increase of demand of wheat then the flour prices are going through the roof.
The increase in costs of animal feeds are also pushing the price of meat, butter, cheese and milk up.
The price of vegetables will rise too due to the flooding.
It should be a little better next year when the EU abandons the farmers "set aside" rule, but in the meantime it is like it or lump it I'm afraid.

  • Just to let you know that I found the 99p store in Sutton, Surrey selling 12 packets of Be-Ro self raising flour (each 500g) for 99p - a real bargain as each packet says 59p on it! Don't know if the 99p Store is nationwide though!
