  • Anyone tried the Utterly Butterly spread with Omega 3 in it? Currently on offer at Tesco for 67p for 500g. I usually use the regular one but it's £1.02 and wondered if this one was any good. Anyone know what Farmfoods are for milk at the moment? We go through 12 pints a week. We don't have an Iceland here. Have a Lidl also. TIA.

I use to pay 89p for 4 pinter at local freezer shop ..but its gone upto £1.09...but today went to iceland £1 for 4 pinter skimmed

You think this is expensive? Over here we pay 50p a pint for locally produced milk, and locally produced bread from locally grown and milled wheat is £1.24 a loaf!
  • Just back from Sainsburys (been out of the country on holiday) and was shocked to see how much milk, bread and so on have gone up by. Does anyone know if this is a short term thing or whether it's likely to go up again (if so will bulk buy now!!!)

Probably will be for a while, not to upset about milk going up as long as the farmers are getting a good amount.

    OUCH!!!!!

Thankfully I usually pay £2 for 2x2litre milks from Sainsburys.. or £3 for 3x3litre ones.

I don't usually shop in sainbugs, but went today to check the price of their milk, shock horror - £1.65 for 3litres with no multi purchase price.
Went to farmfoods, their milk was £1.35 for 3litres, their kingsmill bread has shot up from £1.30 for 2loaves last week to £1.60 for 2 loaves this week, that's more than 20% increase. I think there'll be a lot of hm bread this week.
The man in the shop also told me that petrol is going up next month as well.

I ordered 2 of thee in the shopping this week and OH says its nice tasting. You can use it for baking, cooking etc. TBH, I only have butter on sarnies and baked spuds, so a Kerrigold lasts me about 4-5 weeks:D DD has soya spread.

    Hiya,

I don't use an awful lot of bread, but have started buying it reduced, it's still 80-odd pence a loaf!

I managed to get 24 packs of utterly butterly for £1.99, so mega bargain there! Guess what I'll be using for a while!

And for milk, I buy UHT as I don't have an awful lof of space in my fridge.

Just heard about this on the news this morning!

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/low/business/7004054.stm

The UK's big four supermarkets and dairies colluded to keep the price of dairy goods artificially high, the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) has said.

The price-fixing deal led to consumers overpaying for milk, cheese and butter by an estimated £270m, the OFT said.
Asda, Tesco, Morrisons, Sainsbury's and processors including Dairy Crest and Arla were involved, the OFT said. The supermarkets have denied the claims.

If found guilty of price fixing, the firms could face heavy fines.
