Cheeky I know, but what's the latest on this - I dipped into this thread a week or two back and haven't got round to doing more reading. Is it still on offer for 1 free night? And yes I know I'm being incredibly lazy not trawling through everyone's posts......I've had a glass of wine and it is 10.30......sigh
Sorry Spud, the guarantee is now only applicable to Ramada properties in the USA and Canada. RedBern managed to get a free night in New York - details are a few posts back in this thread.

Contact with the red brested one seems to have gone quiet  It's a week since I sent the e-mail asking for my money back as promised. He confirmed he had received the e-mail on Wednesday as I requested and then not a peep since. Hope this money doesn't take too much chasing!

Just received an e-mail this morning stating I'll receive a cheque in the post within 3-4 weeks

Well I got my check for $200 from Ramada today :j

Since they screwed up and I didn't get their reply til after my trip to London...they said they would send me $200 for my "troubles" and they sure did heh. This will go towards christmas shopping heh.

Thought i'd update on my stay in Ramada Bristol for anyone that has an upcoming stay.

Upon check-out they tried to charge me. I showed them the print out of the confirmation of the free stay. Being a bit flustered, the girl got her manager, an affable and intelligent young chap. He stated that all Ramada UK hotels have been advised not to accept these free stays, and an e-mail should have been sent to me stating this. I said it hadn't (I don't count the one from the US), and he said, fine, no problems, took a copy of the confirmation, and wished me on my way.

All very fine, just make sure you take print-outs of all correspondence for any stays.
  • Mrs Wideblue and I stayed at Ramada Chester this weekend and I must admit that I was expecting a bit of hassle.

However, we were allocated an Executive room (as ordered) and checked out with no questions asked. The receptionist even smiled, confirmed that there was no payment due, and asked if we'd enjoyed our stay!

Looking forward to Hyde Park in two weeks' time now :D

Many thanks op, and all who have made positive contributions to this thread

hypothetical quick question - If you were going to a place for 5 nights and had only booked 3 - and got 3 nights for the price of 2 - and subsequently found that the fifth night could potentially be free as it is cheaper on Expedia - would you:
    a) book just the 5th night to comply with the t&cs?
    b) book 5th night - get it free - and then book 4th night as extension to first 3 when you have finished your first 3 nights.
    c) have the first deal - check out for a night - and check back in????

    only hypothetical of course!
    Bern :j
  • I would book the 5th night on its own, put in claim under Best Rate Guarantee. As for the 4th night, if you stay at the same hotel for that night, they'll probably kick out the '5th night free' as a "stay" is defined as consecutive nights at a property regardless of how many reservations were made to obtain those nights and regardless of check-in/check-out activity.

How about booking the 4th night in your daughter's name? You would have to check-out after night 3 and then again after night 4 but might be worth it for 2 free nights in NYC...............

  • Well I'll be in the Days Inn Westminster this Friday and The Ramada Hyde Park on Saturday and I can't wait for it. Touch wood it'll be free but I've kept a few quid aside in case I have to pay for it and claim it back.
I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the Ramada/Days Inn BRG thread.
