Definately, thats our plan rather than being ripped off in the hotel. I'll leave some feedback on here when I get back.I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the Ramada/Days Inn BRG thread.0

quick update - gave up with Ramada (prices changed for the worse if you put in one night or two) - and have Priceline'd 2 nights at the Radisson Lexington for 423$ instead of 623$:jBern :j0

Did you report the win on either Betterbidding or BFT?
Helps others if you do.
I'm off to the Hyde Park Ramada on Friday.
I've printed off the email from their revenue manager which confirms the stay is free.
So hopefully all will go well :cool:0 -
It just goes from bad to worse...
I finally received my cheque from the USA for the stay at Chester - made payable to completely the wrong name  I can only describe the name on the cheque as a "comedy version" of my actual name, so this is clearly someone's idea of a practical joke.
Contacted the red breasted one to ask for it to be reissued in my correct name. He then said he would not do this, as Chester informed him I have filed a dispute on the charge with my credit card company. This is complete b*llox as I never filed a dispute and have even paid off the charge on my c/c bill... Maybe this was a final two-fingered salute by the revenue manager at Chester before he left their employment...?
And it confirms to me that the cheque was purposely issued in the wrong name as a stalling tactic.
Now the red breasted one is saying I must produce evidence that a dispute wasn't filed with my credit card company. It's a bit difficult when someone asks you to prove a negative!
I'll feel so stupid calling my bank and saying "Hi, can you send me a letter proving that I didn't dispute this charge"!!! And surely my bank are entitled to charge me for writing such a letter, as this is really not their fault and nothing to do with them at all.
I think Ramada are hoping I will just get bored of this game of cat and mouse and give up.
Moral of the story: never allow the hotel to charge your card in the first place! If they get shirty about the free night, just walk out without paying.
Getting my money back is proving to be a nightmare. Anyone got any ideas on how I should play this?0 -

Quick question for anyone in the know... If I want to book free nights in Canada with Ramada do I use the expedia.com website as opposed to the .co.uk one as the comparison site; bearing in mind I am a UK citizen?? Think the obvious answer is yes but just wanted to check before I head down that road...
RedBern... was getting the Free nights in NY easier than the fiasco of the UK nights that some of us got? Did you need to provide screen grabs etc?
Off to Canada next Summer and this seems like a good way to save some cash... Anyone actually used Ramada/Days Inn free nights in Canada or US sucessfully??
All help/advice much appreciated...0
