Blindman - its all back on - i had an email from the W Group (cos i emailed the lady who approved it and got the following -
Dear Mr. Beckett:
Thank you for contacting the Ramada Corporate Office. I do sincerely apologize for the delay in our response to you. We have confirmed that your Best Rate Free Night will be honored, by the hotel on your date of arrival.
Should any issues arise on this matter, please do not hesitate to contact me directly. Again I do apologize for the delays in the handling of this matter.

Regarding the email below, I have received an email from the hotel (Rhymes with spanner) to say this is not valid.
I abided by the terms and conditions and have your agreement. I have also a group of people who have booked (but are paying)for 5 rooms the same night. Unless this is dealt with, I will cancel all their rooms as well.
Please inform the hotel that under law they cannot make retrospective changes to agreement and that I shall be spreaking to the press regarding this.
Please come back to me as soon as possible. I would have expected better froma worldwide chain such as Ramada.

Wow, you go away from this site for a day and soooo many things happen!
I emailed the original US person that confirmed my free night on Friday but they are out of the office until Monday so hopefully (fingers crossed) they might yet honour the guarantee by the sounds of other folks experience...
Sounds like the whole situation is being really badly handled; what is their UK media and customer relations dept. doing?!
Will anyone be using this new confirmed free night stay before Friday 5th Oct? Has anyone forwarded the response from US to the hotels concerned in the UK, to see what their reaction is?
