Free hotel stays

It looks like all the free stays given to everyone on this thread might now be cancelled.
Just had this from ****** (in the UK):Firstly I am sorry that we have only just given you 24 hours notice. We have only just received exact clarification of the situation from Jarvis Hotels.
Wyndham Worldwide, have been informed of the situation, by Jarvis Hotels
commercial director, who has informed Wyndham that these claims are invalid
If you do have any further queries, then you will need to contact
Wyndham, who are fully aware of the situation
Oh dear. what a fiasco.
**** still doesn't clarify exactly WHY they're invalid. It's not good enough to make a vague sweeping statement like that without explaining it.
Earlier today I e-mailed the guy at Wyndham Worldwide in the USA who originally approved my free stay, but no reply yet (I have to bear in mind they're 5 hours behind though, so he's probably just got in to work).0 -
Oh poo... anyone else received something similar?0
-
We could still stay even if we have to pay and just take them to court later! Anyone have an exact copy of the terms?0

Absolutely. You hit the nail on the head. And this is exactly what I intend to do. I can't see how they'd have a leg to stand on in court.
The confirmation of a free stay and the T&Cs are all there in black and white - they can't change their mind at the last minute!
I didn't print off the T&Cs on Ramada.com before they changed them to exclude hotels in the UK, but I doubt they'd commit perjury on a mass scale by denying the offer ever applied to UK hotels (assuming this is the get-out clause which they're referring to - but I really have no idea what it is, as ****** has been so incredibly vague!). This thread is proof enough of what the T&Cs originally said; all the people who posted on here can't have 'imagined' it!0 -
I LOVE YOU Google and your cache!
Here's the T&Cs as of 23 Sep, before they changed them.......

Thanks taxiphil! I've checked the reservations for all 5 of my successful claims and they are, at the moment at least, still showing a rate of £0 with "NIGHT FREE PER BEST RATE PROGRAM" in the 'Comments' section. This space has been intentionally left blank0

Thanks! I copied it and pasted it onto a windows document so I have a company for future use if I need it!
I haven't heard anything back yet from the person I got the "free night" from either. DAMN THEM!*If you like the advice I give...let me know by clicking the THANKS button*

You know, what is most disturbing, just like Days Inn, Easyjethotels ,Hyatt etc is the way they try to wriggle out their legal obligations.
Companies (and people) who basicaly lie- that is what their guarantee is- A BIG LIE deserve all they get.
They are never too big to topple. Bad press may start as a ripple, but can quickly become a tidal wave.
I will never use any of the Wyndham chain again after this.0 -

I agree entirely. I'm still in shock about the half-@rsed, casual, badly written, vague and unapologetic Word document I received off ***** , which doesn't go into any detail about why the free stays are no longer valid, but just basically tells me to sod off as "we can do whatever we want". Errr, no you can't, *****.
If this decision has come from high up in the Ramada Jarvis chain, as ***** suggests, you'd think someone in the company would have enough skills and basic intelligence to write a meaningful apology to their customers, and at least make some kind of effort to make amends.
Do they really think that people will just roll over and take this? Have they the faintest idea about customer service? It's obviously going to infuriate people if they are offered a free stay and then get a cancellation e-mail off the hotel saying they've changed their mind, the day before the stay.
Here is what I've said back to ****** (and I'd suggest others send something along these lines):Dear *****
Thank you for your reply.
I am afraid I can not accept that Ramada Jarvis is entitled to rescind this offer. There is nothing in the Terms and Conditions which permits this.
Since I have been given such short notice, and have made other arrangements in connection with my stay in Chester over 27-28 Sep, I have no alternative but to proceed with the stay at your hotel tomorrow and will pay strictly on an "under protest" basis.
Please could you inform whoever is responsible for this decision at Ramada Jarvis hotels that I will be seeking to recover the cost of the stay via litigation in the County Court, and that I am entirely confident that my claim will be successful.
This will include legal and court fees, so I am providing this opportunity to Ramada Jarvis to mitigate its losses by honouring the free stay at this stage.
Yours sincerely
taxiphil
I sent that at 4.45pm, but haven't had a reply. I haven't had a reply off ***** either (he's the guy at Wyndham Worldwide in the USA who originally validated my claim for a free stay). Obviously time is of the essence, as my stay is tomorrow, but they're not rushing to get back to me.
What an absolutely crap, pathetic company.0
