Cooler here today but not working and glad to not be on a hot train!!
Have a great weekend x
Hi brizzle – I've got over the football result – I was out with friends on the semi-final evening – we went to a local burger restaurant – my friend's family know the owner very well so we had a great table to view the screen – the atmosphere was electric when we scored but alas it wasn’t to be.Stayed there quite late though and paid for it the next day. I'm too old now for boozy late nights during the work week!:o

Have the New York flight tickets been booked , plus do you stay on Manhattan Island or elsewhere. Stayed in a few hotels , but one of my favourites is the Salisbury Hotel in a one bedroomed suite on 57th Street, near to Central Park. Not keen on the subway but have used it .
Hope you are fully recovered after your fall.
Enjoy your weekend.
Hi Hairy and Cumbria – Re. New York – I'm waiting on DD to transfer her Virgin Atlantic points to me so that I can book the flights. She has enough for an upgrade to Premium. I've got enough for a £90 discount on my fare. I'll upgrade as well – I can't manage an 8 hour flight now unless I have extra legroom! We keep to Manhattan Island when we go to NY - I've stayed at a few different hotels in the past, haven’t been to the Salisbury though. DD has her eye on a hotel that she stayed at with her pals so I'll leave it to her to sort out that one!
Wrist - still slowly getting there!
This weekend was sweltering so I stayed in apart from a trip to the local shops on Saturday. I'm thoroughly fed up with this heat now – even my pals who are die-hard sun-worshippers are saying the same. Oh for some nice rain!:(
I got £7.50 from the dress agency on Saturday and also received £37.24 from topcashback so have updated my Ad Hoc Savings.
I also got a nice surprise in that I asked for a yearly statement on my final salary pension scheme and the annual total has gone up more than I thought it would!:j
This week I have nail appointment and dental hygienist (paid from the dental insurance plan though).
Have a good day everyone and I'll catch up with diaries tonight.

Thank you for your thoughtful messages peeps - I lost my way a bit - it started with the heat last month and work was being a pain - felt rather depressed but feel a lot better now. I'm back to posting and reading what everyone has been up to!
Nothing really exciting to report, though New York trip is finally booked for end November so have that to look forward to. Had to pay out £265 for some work on my front tooth as a large filling came away from the back of it! - still at least that it what the emergency fund is for! Also went to see "The King and I" earlier this month - which was a lovely adaptation and thoroughly enjoyable.
Apart from above, I haven't gone mad and spent wildly - YNAB is still fully under control!
Will be back later tonight to catch up with diaries.
