Hamper sounds lovely- what a treat.
No coffees out here either and it feels like it’s been forever. I feel very sorry for the catering industry.....I started out in catering as did dh.....it was because I didn’t know what I wanted to do but knew an office wasn’t for me 😳😳 I figured folk would always want to eat out. Can’t say that now can we 🤪

  • Well our area has been moved into the new Tier 4.  I will be able to have Christmas Day at my sister's as she's in the same tier and I'm in a bubble with her as a person who lives on their own.  However, I won't be seeing DD for the foreseeable future.  I'm going to rebook my flights to Scotland over the New Year to end February – The flights haven't been cancelled as yet so I'm waiting for my email from them to decide whether I'll ask for a refund or voucher.

I'm absolutely gutted about not seeing DD – I've not felt so low for a long time.  😞Still at least I will be seeing family over Christmas- some poor people will be on their own.

My friend who lives in Kent said she was so pleased she got all her Christmas shopping finished last week.  She said she heard that it was absolute bedlam at their local big shopping mall after Boris's announcement yesterday.  Those who were going to finish their shopping this week hit the mall before it closed last night before the midnight lockdown took place.

I've finished my Christmas shopping apart from sending out Amazon and Next e-gift vouchers to DD's OH and his family this week.  All presents are wrapped but there will be some of them sitting there for a while yet.  I sent a bestie that I won't see for a while a Christmas bouquet from M&S last week – she sent me a bottle of Laurent-Perrier which was much appreciated.  A client also sent me a lovely box of Hotel Chocolat biscuits.

I'm working all this week up till Christmas Eve although we are finishing at lunchtime as normal that day.  I had booked the first week in January off as I was going to DD's.  I'm still going to take this week off – I'm quite looking forward to a good week off work away from the screens.

DSis and her OH are over the Covid virus now although her OH is still not feeling 100%.

    SCRIMPY MSE THINGS

Other budgeted spends have been flowers for my friend's sister's funeral, birthday and sympathy cards.

I've also cashed out £25 from Opinium.

I'll be catching up with diaries this evening – hope all are ok out there.

It’s such a shame this happened so close to Christmas. It’s been an absolute nightmare year, who could have ever predicted this. It just seems endless 😩

Good news that your sister and OH are better.

My dd in Kent said it has been madness....in the shops. Our journey there has been scuppered....like you I haven’t felt this low for a long long time. It’ll pass and hopefully we’ll smile about 2020 when looking back 🤞👍

  • Thanks guys - it's such a mess out there isn't it. ☹️
I went out early this morning with my shopping trolley before I started work to catch the greengrocer as he opened. As I'm not going away now next week I thought I'd better get some fruit and veg before the holiday sets in. There was only two people in front of me in the queue though it was teeming with rain. I was only in there about ten minutes but there was quite a queue forming when I got out so I got there just in time. I was also low on laundry tablets and I needed a loaf so bought these as well.  Shopping wise I'm fine now into the new year.  Hopefully everything will be ok and we won't have shortages.
Work was busy though I had some internet problems where it kept cutting out for some reason this morning. I'm playing Heart radio at the moment as every other track played is a Christmas song. It's not cheering me up as much as I'd hoped though.....
No chance either this evening of seeing the Jupiter/Saturn conjunction - the weather's still crap.  Hopefully it'll be clearer tomorrow. 🪐
What a dreary post!  I'm going to have to buck up!
