It’s indeed a very sad Christmas. I’ve just been listening to the news with all those poor lorry drivers stuck in their trucks.....what a blooming mess all round. This virus is just horrendous 😡😡

    January spends - £587.58
  • Yes it's been tough on the lorry drivers - at least it all seems to be moving now down there - here's hoping they all test negative for covid so they can get home for some Christmas time with their families. 🤞

And at last we have a Brexit deal although I haven't read up on it all yet! Talk about going up to the wire!🇬🇧

I only had to work until lunchtime today as it's traditional that we all knock off then. I'm now off work until Friday 8 Jan! 😀 I got all my jobs finished and sent my boss and the guy who helps us an email with details of a couple of things that will come up while I'm offline.

My boss is panicking as he sent me some John Lewis vouchers through the post a week ago and I haven't received them yet. I told him don't be too down yet as the post is very erratic this year and it could well arrive next week!  DD sent me two cards two weeks ago at the same time and I've only received one. I sent my friend a sympathy and Christmas card a couple of weeks ago at the same time - she got one about two days later and the other over a week later.

I went out for a walk this afternoon to get some air - it was very chilly, but at least it hasn't been raining today. I walked down our little high street. One of the restaurants was selling drinks to quaff outside. There was a mob of people outside in groups standing close together and quite a few didn't look like they were family groups. And of course not wearing masks as they were drinking. God it makes me mad!  No wonder we're in Tier 4!🤬🤬🤬

When I got in I watched 'It's A Wonderful Life' which was a bit of a mistake as it just brought home I wouldn't be seeing DD for the first time ever over either Christmas or New Year. 😞. She sent me a card that arrived today with some really heartfelt words that I will treasure.❤️

DSis is picking me up tomorrow morning as I'm spending Christmas day with her and her family in our bubble so I will be with loved ones and will count my blessings that I have that.

I do hope everyone in diaryland have a wonderful Christmas with as many of their loved ones as possible in these strange times.
