  • Can Wi-Fi and Bluetooth both be turned off at the same time ?

A friend had an acer and it was abit odd as you could only disable one or the other with the button.

    Hi people

I am having problems with the brightness of the screen on my acer 7520.

One minute its really bright the next it's really dim. The screen alters randomly and can hurt my eyes.

I am concerned that the screen may break permanently. Has anyone else experienced this problems or know what might be causing it?

Reading this forum worries me as I can see lots of people have had to return the laptops to Tesco due to faults, I see I may have to exchange mine :(

    Hi,
I use Fireworks which is not compatible with windows vista and vista reduces the colour display to accomodate this. when fireworks is closed the default settings return. This causes a flash and may be what you can see.
If not then I would phone acer support and in the end send it back to tesco. This should not happen without reason.
I have just bought the 5920 gemstone and it is better than I hoped.
I was wary of buying it from laptopsdirect because of their poor aftersales service. I emailed support a question after being on premium line hold for 20 minutes.
7 days later and no response!

  • I just bought the Aspire 7520 but when i have a all black screen there is
a white haze across the bottom half of the screen being brightest at the
bottom and fading away towards the centre , Is it supposed to be like that
or have i got a faulty one ?

Thank you very much for posting these drivers. As I said earlier, I changed mine from Vista to XP, but I had to download a lot of different drivers to get the correct ones.

I'm quite ill at the moment, tired and in a lot of pain and to be quite honest, I really can't be bothered going through all the drivers to find the correct ones and post the links just now for people who wanted to change to XP.

But, I was feeling a bit guilty for letting people down, so you've done me a huge favour, and also the other people who want to change.

    Thanks again.

    Michael.
  • Anybody else got light bleed across the bottom half of the screen when on a all black sreen ?
  • Can Anybody answer my question as i'm unsure if i need to send my laptop back.

a Black screen for me is more like a dark grey with a white sheen and it doesn't change very much when i turn the brightness down and i'm unsure if it's supposed to be like that being my first laptop.
