Hi All
My lax money savings summer put no effort in activity has come home to roost. An additional £800 of stuff, not budgeted for has found its way into my life. I can pay it, but really, I am officially stopping being so carefree and reeling myself in. Quite ashamed of me.
Food as ever. The fridge and freezers are stuffed like xmas week. none will be wasted, but really.
I am not doing as well as foxgloves, my apple trees are groaning and I have only managed to process a few windfalls so far. Next weekends mission. Believe me I have the sugar ready!!!!

Hello! I hope you don't mind me joining, I think accountability will help me in the short and long run. Especially if I am focused - well I'll be able to stay away from shiny things. I really should change my username to "magpielikesshinything"
I have a £175 interest free debt to pay off on Very. Monthly payments are going towards clearing CCs but Very is not included in the budget at the mo. I have budgeted to clear it when the interest free period runs out in 8 months but I really like the idea of being able to chip away at it and then close the darn account!
If I save or make money it's off to Very. So I've just cancelled the £10.99 gym membership (which I was using) so I am going to divert that. I have a ton of rhubarb to make into jam - I'm going to pay 50pence per Jam I make to Very (as I won't need to buy jam). I have so much stuff to put on ebay - I've made £100 so far which is in it's own "extra debt payment" category on ynab.
Had an idea but it might be silly - if my monthly food budget is £200 then over 31 days thats £6.40 for the house. Trying to work out how I can buy things I need daily rather than monthly? Whether that will work. So if I spent £5.40 then put £1 in a pot towards Very. Monthly shopping is the devil as far as I am concerned.Money money money.

Hi September Super Stars,
Thanks for the Starter dnm.
The wee geek is recovering and enjoying two days off at Dowd Towers.
Debt Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Two:
* Did RMSurveys.
* Our tv couldn't be repaired so yesterday we took delivery of a new 28 inch one. We decided not to go any bigger, this is a sitting room not a cinema. Used Quidco. Bought up front rather than on credit. We went for the cheapest Samsung we could get. Chose not to be a cheapo brand as the last two cheapo ones we've had were not long-lasting.
* Added more vouchers to the Decemberfest stash.
* Treated self to a boxed set of 56 Poirot DVDs from eBay. £35 deivered. Every weekend we spend £1 on charity shop DVDs. At 62.5p each these will keep us going for a while. Will be selling the 11 'odd' Poirot DVDs on eBay.
* Put in 60 hours at work this week. We have now hired new staff. Please, Great Smurf, let them not resign in week one. I've been assured it's one more week of working crazy hours and then onto my preferred shift pattern and back down to 40 hours. I'm going onto nights so that'll mean a pay rise. Hugly proud of myself for rising to the challenge. That being said I did finish my week and head straight to the fridge of a stiff drink! :rotfl:
Live long, live well and prosper.

Evening  and welcome to all the newbies. This really is a fantastic thread.
Ally, I'm keeping my fingers firmly crossed that you get a less busy week at work. Again, I am busy (no surprise) and tired (no surprise). The boys are off to football tonight and I am planning an evening of tea, EastEnders and knitting. :jcrazy_cat_lady wrote: »

Ally I thought a stiff drink at the end of the working week was mandatory?! Glad to hear things will settle down soon x
Abby welcome! Yes grocery shopping is the Bain! I've found fortnightly shopping great. I buy enough milk bread coffee, tinned fruit and frozen veg for second part of second week and as long as I have this I don't go to the shops. I've done it 3 fortnights now and it works and has definitely brought our gc bill down :money:DF as at 30/12/16

My problem is that I am obsessed with ys items. But I don't need anymore!
When I got home tonight, the football boots and led fairy lights had been collected so £7.50 has gone into the glass jar which is money to go towards Very
I don't have the energy tonight to make soup but tomorrow night my mission is to make butternut squash soup and try my hand at pitta bread as I usually buy mine. I have never tried it but I've got plenty of flour.Money money money.
