When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :money:

Morning everyone :wave: Just caught up with everyone's posts over the last few days. Ziggy how lovely to have another grandchild :smileyhea hope you had lots of lovely cuddles x
We spent the whole weekend with my ds and his girlfriend for his birthday which was so lovely! Go ape was great fun and so much laughter, then ds, gf and one of his friend's came back for dinner and stayed for a few hours, then they went into town for a few hours and came back. Then yesterday we went to the surprise bbq party thrown by his gf's parents. Was so nice, she's a lovely girl and her family are lovely and they love my ds. Made me so happy to see him settled and happy. Old timers will know the difficulties I have had with my kids so it's such a relief to know one of them is settled and happy now
small plans for today:
* currently cooking some butter beans, that were soaked in water overnight, ready for tea tonight
* hang out washing
* pay cc just checked but no need to as the dd went through. I had thought it was set up for the account I just closed but it appears not
* lunch is defrosted courgette soup & bread & a piece of birthday cake from yesterday, and foraged apples for snacks
* call mechanic as oh's car developed a problem driving back from the party
* going to work at oh's work today
* think I will try to list some thing on fleabay tonight
* do some form of exercise this evening
Ok think that's it. Have a good day everyone xDF as at 30/12/16

Morning Monday Money Savers,
Busy day planned. This week's frugal activity will be thus:
*All laundry done overnight on cheap tariff & will be line dried for free.
*Mid-month Budget Check-in to ensure we are on track. A bit of fund-shuffling to keep various 'pots' straight.
*Keep veggie garden going.....watering & feeding for stuff that's still cropping & extra care for stuff that's nearly ready i.e sweetcorn & grapes.
*Keep rounding up windfall apples & turning them into apple sauce, muffins, apple chutney, etc.
*Use rest of foraged blackberries for another batch of home made yummy jam.
*Make piccalilli.
*Knit stuff as planned for gifts.
Mostly I think I will be in the kitchen & garden dealing with our veggie/fruut harvest or at my desk number-crunching. I am intending to limit my time online this week as it's such a thief of time. Best wishes everyone for a great frugal week......keep your mitts on your money.

Afternoon all.
As we've pretty much automated the money side of life, apart from keeping track in KMyMoney and occasionally planning and saving for bigger expenses, I find I need to do very little extra DFW stuff... but this week and next are going to be hellishly expensive.
Reason? Our overseas adventure is ending, and we're heading home. So the plan this week is the opposite of DFW:
* Jetlag
* Massive clean-a-thon to de-lodger the house.
* Buy a car x 1
* Insure and tax cars x 2
* A couple of relatively urgent home repairs to sort out
* Um... got a bit more on CC than expected, too. It'll be covered as usual, but does wipe out next month's predicted savings. Oh well... do better next time

So I've got a bad ear infection that's not clearing, had it a week and its really annoying now! Anyway debt free stuff:
- post two flebay parcels (DH can do this for me)
- sell a coat this evening to a Facache buyer
- transfer CC to 0% card
- Postcode lottery
- Enter a few comps on my sick bed!
- Work from home - no drive in, save fuel.
- Use left over mexican mince and rice for lunch
- NSD
- iPoll surveys.
Hope I can achieve this today.Competition wins £14,136.30[\COLOR]0
