Wolfy you've a lot to get to grips with so it's not unusual to not feel like talking about it . There's a lot to learn with these conditions and of course you need to work around your own disabilities .

Mishka sounds lovely and very well behaved . I'm glad she has a loving 2nd home . Many people don't seem to research various breeds of dogs first and then the poor thing needs rehoming .

I know you both prefer to stay as independent as possible but if you haven't already it could be worth doing an online benefits check to see if there is anything applicable to Mr Wolf . The costs do mount up .
Thanks, hun. We're on all the extra money we're entitled, we did check. ;)

In fact, the DWP wanted to haul me in for a compliance interview recently (big scary stuff, I don't "do" Other People as you know) but Mr Wolf was able to satisfactorily answer their questions on the phone, so I didn't have to go after all. What annoyed me was they'd already had that information on their blasted 20-page form!! I bet some beleaguered little admin assistant had trouble reading Mr Wolf's writing (he fills out forms for me as I can't hold a pen for long, and any way my writing's totally illegible) so didn't bother putting all the info onto the computer record.

Latest fiasco - he got a call this morning while we were walking Mishka - surgery want him to make an appt with the GP who has been treating him. So.... we go online as soon as we're in.... there are NO appts available whatsoever with any GP at the surgery this side of Xmas, and of course that's as far as the system is currently set up for.

I also need a meds review fairly soon; and of course I have to see a female GP, so gods know how that's going to run.

I've suggested we keep trying on a daily basis, and if no joy by the time Mishka goes home (next Tues), the following day while we have no dog, we'll call in at the surgery and see if they can advise.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Well I'm back . Haven't been online much as the never ending virus scrambled my brain even more than usual .

I've had visions of you all wrapped in blankets when ever possible . The cold spell seemed to arrive in a rush . I know some of you overheat in bed but I'm like an iceberg and introduced two hot water bottles at bedtime I don't know why I've never thought of it before .

I've been wondering if Tink's husband is ok as I think he should have had the op by now . Hopefully he's on the mend and it hasn't been too difficult while he's out of action .

Early days yet Candy for the new med but everything crossed it will be effective . Dd had decades of antids but it is this drug she was put on early this year which made the huge difference with anxiety , panic attacks and the agoraphobia to the point her whole thinking has changed and she's coping .

I hope Mr Wolfs appt got sorted - I know you both prefer online contact but a few years ago I started standing at reception until they finally got the message that if something was needed especially when the request came from the surgery it was their role to make it happen . They've got the message and it isn't needed anymore .

I don't know what is up with the DWP . They're sending loads of random stuff to people . I can imagine the shock over the compliance letter . One was sent for dd about 10 yrs ago . The woman who came to interview said as soon as she entered the house they suspected a false report so interview wasn't under caution . As soon as she started talking we knew exactly where it had come from . The last low life to cross her path in the lost years .

Like a good former civil servant I had 5 years hard copies of my bank statements and dds more recent ones dating to when it was safe to finally have a bank account free from the leeches .

That was it sorted but they got him due to the fact the police had had to rescue her from him and there was a lot of documentation .

    Hope everyone's ok .

If you're able AOT give us a wave .

As you've just had new medication prescribed Candy it's worth giving it a fair trial . Dd now has Mirtazipine along with a couple of others . Another benefit she found is better sleep which has always been difficult for her in the past . Weight gain is a known side effect but she has that in hand .

Everyone reacts differently to different meds and what suits one may not be right for another . I would give the new one a chance to kick in properly before considering anything else . Hopefully your GP will be monitoring to see how things go .

Dd has had many meds over the last 20 years and at the moment this seems fine .. However like others here we're aware it may not always be so . Be guided by your Gp and see how you go on with the new med .

That's the one. It was pretty hard initially dragging a virtual zombie to all the different appointments this year but she did adjust eventually and started a regular pattern for sleep at night and getting up each morning even if she didn't need to go out . First time in her life she's managed that .

I'm hoping your new med will help you . It sounds as though the new GP is on the ball so lets hope things improve .

Hi everyone! I'm loaded with cold but still going!

DH has his Op last week and is doing really well, it's been a lot for me to take over but we are managing really well apart from the awful cold that only I seem to have for now.

Candy I'm glad you got your meds sorted out & LW I understand you don't want to talk about it all yet but you can still come here and chat about general life and stresses and normal, your new furry guest sounds lovely! I'm terrified of DWP as I don't fit in to all the boxes that they have and it's always a stressful time.

I'm getting sorted for Xmas and hoping it's nice and relaxed this year as I'm enjoying simplifying things a lot at the moment.

Started getting my propping delivered and it's gave me so much extra time just getting it all done together. It's a stress I've taken off my list. The new cleaner is great too so things are going well.

Hope everyone is ok and sailing along well xx

Hope the cold clears up soon Tink there seem to be a lot of us stuck with coughs , colds and viruses .

I'm so pleased to hear your husband is on the mend and everything is under control . I knew once you got your lists going and the thinking cap on you'd manage fine .

The cleaner sounds well worth the cost and the food deliveries combined with that should take a lot of the physical and mental strain from daily life .
Take care and get well soon to you both .

It truly is "horses for courses" with anti-d's. I had a run-in with Mirtazipine a few years ago, and it literally nearly killed me.

I had, against my better judgement, agreed to have an assessment by the Community Mental Health Team. The assessment itself was stressful in the extreme; there were TWO [STRIKE]interrogators[/STRIKE] interviewers, so I was outnumbered to start with (thank the gods Mr Wolf was there or I'd have totally freaked). They took notes, but it took well over a month for said notes to be written up.

I am so glad they sent me a courtesy copy of their report, because the inaccuracies in it made it a total work of fiction; the timeline was all wrong, and the real humdinger of a glaring error was they'd manage to turn "tried cannabis for a short while for pain relief, over a decade ago" into "has been taking cannabis for over a decade".:eek::eek:

Anyways - upshot was the Head Honcho with the CMHT, a male doc whom I never actually met, wrote to GP summarily ordering that I be taken off Moclobemide and put on Mirtazipine. With disastrous results. I couldn't handle the weight gain side of it at all, and it made me feel even more suicidal than I already did. Luckily, the GP asked what this doc had said when I saw him, so of course I said "I've never even met him". At which point she asked if I wanted to swap back to Moclobemide. The rest is history.....

How are we all doing? I'm in the second week of new tablets, gradually starting to feel calmer.Saw the doc yesterday, n he said they don't kick in so quickly, but I'm always the weird one :D
