  • Thanks candy good to hear you're feeling a lot better now x

Fuds when I read about the glasses I had a feeling you'd find it helpful . I'm no expert only needing reading glasses but I know you've struggled in the cold with your glasses steaming up .

I've always been both positive and stubborn which can be good and make you determined not to give in . There was no choice but to forge ahead over the last year but now that things are stable I can see how much it took out of both of us . I've always had a dodgy chest and with dd picking up everything going I was too run down to fight off her viruses .

It does bring making wise choices into focus . I'm going to be more mindful of doing the famous pacing and questioning whether I'm being stubborn or if something can wait a day or two .

I think it will do you good to go to the show . it's like being a child in a sweet shop . Say hello to Harrogate for me one of my favourite places . Like the flower show I usually set a budget and only take enough money ro the shows otherwise we'd be on bread and dripping for a month !

I'm glad you've got this far without getting as ill as you were last year . You must be doing the right things and the meds must be playing their part .

Hope the bus pass comes through asap . I know you get some wild weather up your way so use your judgement in bad weather .

  • Me neither candy . That's what I like about this thread . Someone always has experience of these problems and are kind enough to help .
I'll mention it to my middle daughter as she has the same problem .

Nor did I, and I've been wearing spectacles for *counts on fingers, realises that won't work and uses toes as well* 53 years!
I'm going to be seeing a different optician next time; fed up with poor service, so will be kicking B00ts into touch. Already moved elsewhere for my audiology service. But I'm putting off a sight test currently; I KNOW I shall need new specs, and I don't currently have the dosh to pay for 'em.

  • Oh it's good to see you Wolfy . We've found it a heavy cost all the various different things that need paying for but like yourself dd can't cope with intrusion and after being fined at the dentists because unknown to us the receptionist ticked the claim box although she'd been clearly told dd was not eligible she's not keen on claiming any extras .

Did you manage to sort Mr Wolfs appt out at the Drs and maybe yours with a lady doctor ?

I hope things are ok with you both . Any furry friends in the pipeline?

    Take care

    Hi Polly

Yes wefinally got Mr Wolf sorted out. The Consultant has tweaked up his dose of Sinemet; the prescription for the extra went missing for a fortnight (twit in reception at the surgery had put it in the folder for collectio by S/Drug instead of the one for electronic transmission to S/Drug; and of course they only collect prescriptions if you call and ask them to).

He now has an appointment to see Dr I, who is the GP who referred him to the Neurologist, on 14th December. I have an appointment with Dr F (my preferred lady GP - hooray) on 6th December. Both these appointments were made during the last week in October.

We currently have Suzie the Cavalier King Charles in residence; she's being collected later today. Next up will be Cookie the Staffie (waves to Candygirl ) coming from 14th to 16th December.

Sadly Ronnie has cancelled his long stay over Xmas with us - the Universe has kicked his family in the teeth and they've had to cancel their holiday.:(

But we're hopeful of guests for New Year at least; we have a meet'n'greet visit with Sunny (Whippet) and Peggy (Whippet Cross) and their humans on Sunday, to see if they like us. Fingers crossed!

I think that's really bad that the dentist receptionist ticked the box and you didn't know; you, or at least your DD, should have had some come-back on that. But I'm guessing she wasn't in a good place to be able to fight it. :(

We've solved the problem of Mr Wolf keeping on falling out of bed, too. We got what he calls his fence.:D

Glad you're getting there with Mr LW's treatment. He's lucky to have such a lovely nurse;)
Aww I'm so glad Cookie is returning.I know I'm a bit biased but staffie cuddles are the best:D
The water board were digging up the pavement outside mine the other day, n the Furnutters were watching out of the window. One of the lads waved at them, n then knocked for a cuddle. They were rolling round on the floor in the hall :rotfl:
Luckily He's a Staffie Dad, so knows the score :D

Oh that's lovely, Candygirl. :D One time when i was bringing Cookie home from her walk, the plumbers we use were working at the bungalow opposite us, and one of them came across to meet Cookie. It's so nice to find people who understand and love Staffies.

Afternoon everyone.love the reference furnutters. :D

I'm doing better today mentally but a little concerned as I'm coughing and suffering chest congestion. Plenty of water and it could well be because I'm breathing eucalyptus and oregano oil to get it up in the first place. I'm not doing much at all apart from basic chores today. I've come to learn that fit and healthy can only be achieved by heeding signals and slowing down.

Have a lovely evening if I don't get back on. :)

Haha Furnutters sums them up to a tee.Zeus is 8 months old, full of testosterone, n spends his days shredding my knickers, n humping Bonnie. She's 2 now, and is like a little barrel on legs :rotfl:
They exhaust me, but make me laugh so much :D
