candy I'm glad the new med is helping so far . Drs seem to go by the average statistics when it comes to how long it takes for meds to kick in . However people vary time wise . Dd struggled with the gap before the Mirtazipine really started working but so far it's made a real difference .
As Wolfy says it wasn't helpful for her so everyone needs a suitable fit . The worst dd ever had were the adult psych meds when she was 13 . I was working in the dark over 20 years ago and didn't realise how wrong that prescription was and also they were meant to treat something that was much later shown to be a wrong diagnosis .
Another memorable one was Amyonnatrampoline which worked briefly then kicked back . I know Wolfy who coined the name had a quick and bad experience with that one . As she posted it's horses for courses . Let's hope you benefit from this new med . I'm glad the GP is helpful , treasure them .
Well I'm still searching for some energy . Everything seems to have gone to pot since September . Just starting to get through the remaining rearranged appointments ..
Dd had her final appt with her counselor the Friday before last after being asked if she felt ready or wanted to keep going . She chose to try on her own and see how things go . Dr will be keeping a close eye and she has a tool box of all the diaries , feedback and print outs over the past year from the sessions she feels will keep her on course . It' and the new med have changed her mindset . She shared a hug with the wonderful woman who's helped her and that was a real first for her . There's an open invitation to go back if she starts struggling .
I've been thinking of you all and wondering how things are . It looks as though it's going to be warm blankets and hot water bottles time next week . I've been abnormally cold while I've been ill and two hot water bottles have come into use .
Dd is always hot total opposite of me . Dr has just changed her to a different med to try to help the hot and sweaty . No idea if it will help as Pharmacy had none in stock . Very short on Zomorph , only a few Pregabalin and Cyclizine so need to go to town again for them .
Worth picking up your meds as soon as poss especially with the forthcoming holiday period , low stock etc .
Take care all .

'ello.
May I join you?
I'm a bit of a poorly bear. I'm also a bit of a stubborn poorly bear! I've found out today that I have been reffered for genetics testing (I knew it was coming) but those results will effect my DD's one of which has a heart murmur already. I also found out today that my cardiologist wants to increase my meds. That was a shock because I thought I was doing OK. It's knocked the stuffing out of me really.
What brings me here is I'm struggling to leave the house really. I went to pick up my prescriptions from town yesterday. Walked the 1.5 miles because I can walk no problem down hill but the damp cold air, even with scarf (intermittent as I wear glasses and they fog) had my chest tighten and had to get the bus back up even though I had managed the walk back up about 10 days ago.
So my confidence is going and my anxiety is increasing.
Today I applied for a disability bus pass and to register disabled with my council. I need help and I have had to accept it.
I'm coping fine with OS life within the home though but there will be periods when even that is problematic.
Ah well, that's me said hello. Going back to the bear thing - I've had my stuffing kicked about today. I'll deal with it! Take care all.0 -
You're already one of us Fuds , you've been here before . I do remember you talking in the past about the possibility of genetic testing and although I know you will be worrying about your dd as well as yourself You'll worry if you don't do it anyway .
I'm sorry to hear the meds need increasing as you've worked so hard to help make your health the best you can
Applying for the bus pass and to register disabled are sensible and proactive steps you've taken despite the anxiety and shock so it proves you can't keep a canny lassie down .
If you haven't already done it I would make an appt to see the good GP . I don't know if you're on any medication for anxiety but it could be worth discussing how you feel and seeing what your doctor thinks . it may not need meds but maybe a little counselling will help Youngest is coping much better both physically and mentally since everything was treated in a holistic way and a lot of that is a good Dr - although you've heard of him before - and a brilliant counselor .
You've a lot to think about so try not to worry too much . Did you ever get any healing crystals? If you did hold them close . You're now in the lavender candle in very good company with Harry Leslie Smith a Barnsley lad in his 90s fighting Pneumonia .
Much love

Have you thought of having the prescriptions delivered from the pharmacy? When it first rolled out at our practice it didn't work well so we still get them from the pharmacy in town , however the problems seem to have been ironed out now .
Don't worry about times you struggle at home I've had flu and viruses for the past couple of months and it's not exactly Good Housekeeping here ! I know you struggle if you feel you aren't doing everything but sometimes you have to take the help when needed , take care of your health and learn when to rest When you were so ill you managed and the girls helped out and got good skills and insight in the process .

Hi FUDDLE .I'm so sorry to hear about your health woes 😣It's so hard, when you realise that you can't do , what you used to be able to do
I struggle walking because of severe osteo in my knees, and nerve damage in my lower legs. Went shopping with Mum yesterday, felt crippled

I don't think this weather helps candy . The cold is really causing everything to flare which then adds to the pain .
How's it going with the new med ? Hope it's still doing it's job .
Thinking of everyone and hoping things are ok .
Drs in the morning so trying to motivate myself to sort everything we'll need .

Evening all!...
...and a welcome (back) to fuddle!
It is always a big thing when you hit another disability milestone...I remember it took me ages to accept that I needed a wheeled walker for getting around.
As for the fogging-up of glasses...you can buy a spray to help protect from weather-fogging….and ask your optician, I get an anti-fog coating as standard on my prescription glasses (also get a free tint on them too as I am sensitive to light)
It's hard to believe it's going to be Stir-Up Sunday in a couple of days...soon be time to start opening the Advent Calendar! (Just pictures, no chocolate!)
Hope everyone is staying warm...the temperature has REALLY dropped...thick soup weather!0 -

It's good to see you Prinzess That's really good advice about the glasses and could be helpful to fuds .
It really is thick soup and casserole weather now . I'm going to have to make an effort over the next few days to do some batch cooking and freezing .
Glad you're keeping up with your prepping for the holiday you are very organised . Is your mum keeping well? I can imagine you both stirring the puddings . I love the scent of spices at this time of year .
Take care both of you

I had never heard of anti fog! Oh worth your weight. You have no idea!
thanks prinzessilien.
Thank you y'know. To just be among people that understand the struggle days and the frustrations will keep my 'it' s not fair!'feelings to a minimum. I' m a positive person but illness has managed to get under my skin... Ha literally! Sorry lol
I have thought about getting my prescriptions delivered but it's that stubborn thing again. I should be able to get them myself, might be taking a more deserving place and all those feelings but if I'm not successful with the bus pass I will have to do that. I have seen a pharmacy car on our roads so I'm sure there's a scheme.
Polly so far I haven't succumbed to infection. I normally pick up the first lot in October so I feel I'm on borrowed time. I'm going to knitting and stitching show at the weekend and I am fully expecting I'll pick something up there but I'm so excited to go and don't want to not just in case.
Polly looking back through the thread your DD is improving so much! You, however, you seemed to have picked up the bug issue as well. You must be so, so tired.
Candygirl hiya. Drat at suffering because of shopping and even more drat if it was what you wanted to do and supposed to be a positive experience. I guess it's always a case of one step forward and one back.0
