A very warm welcome Wonky Teacup (love the screen name, btw). Tips and advice not compulsory, just mosey on in whenever you feel like it, we don't bite. (Well, I do, but Candygirl bought me a muzzle) :rotfl:

OK joking aside, I know how hard it is to go from "perfectionist" to "good enough will jolly well suffice" - I'm still working on it.

Interesting to learn about the Shark - my own vac is a Dys0n Animal, and I've just picked up two cylinders-full of blonde dog hair.

I agree about putting the cleaning product on and doing something else while it does it's job; as long as I can convince Mr LW to leave it alone and I'll deal with it that's my favourite method too. ;)

Wonky teacup welcome!! I'm with you on a light weight Hoover - I just can't push some of the ones out at the moment but got a light weight dyson and it's a dream!

Great news candy girl Hope it makes a difference!

The kids are sleeping at my mums tonight as I'm at work tomorrow and it's still half term so a nice chill out night for me and DH! Only a couple of hours in the office tomorrow so not too bad really.

Still sticking to the meal plan and budget this week so far so I'm feeling good! Managed to have a shower and wash my hair earlier which means I don't have to do it later, clothes etc out for tomorrow too - it's so easy when there is just me to think about!

I've found doing a weekly budget and shop so much better, if it works out this might be the way forward for me - did most of it online and a few fresh bits to pick up mid-week. Will see how it goes but I'm feeling hopeful!

    Have a good night everyone

Ninety mins hard labour in the front garden have just been done; I may regret this later! Ruddy myosotis seedlings all over the place, not to mention bindweed, spurge, groundsel and gawd-only-knows what else. For two pins I'd have the whole damn lot Astroturfed and have done with.

I'd love to just go and have a hot soak and just sling my dressing gown on; but I can't as Mr LW's pal is coming over this evening; and I've got to cook our dins before that.

Anyone got a spare spoon or two I can borrow? I'll give 'em back tomorrow, I promise. :D

Well I’m coughing and spluttering! I don’t feel too bad but have no voice and an awful cough!

Had a day in with the kids today and managed to get a wash out on the line and a bit done around the house but mostly been taking it easy!

The meal plan is going well still but with a little bit of re jiggling about as some nights we weren’t back till late so it was easier to have a little shift around!

The shopping budget is a bit harder - I’ve decided to do £50 a week instead of £300 a month as it was getting wasted in rubbish - the 1st week was great but I’m trying to do next weeks meal plan and I don’t have any meat left in the freezer apart from a big pack of mince. Going to have to look at what sort of meals we want and what meat I can get cheap. I can’t get out at YS time as I have the kids and I just don’t have the energy by 7pm to go fighting over some reduced stuff. We got a meat pack from Morrison’s before which was great but they are few and far between really and only out at certain times. The butcher we used to use as suddenly became really trendy so the portions are smaller and the prices have gone up on the meat packs we used to get.

Off to have a nosey at recipes! Everyone else’s eats everything but I’m GF so don’t do pasta dishes as I refuse to buy replacement items for 3x the price!

I hope you feel better soon Tink-04.

I find honey in hot water great when I get a sore throat.

  • Evening all!

I have had a rough day or two...and it was all my own stupid fault!

I woke up feeling quite good (for me).....so decided I would change the bedding...and put the winter duvet on.....and why not wash the old bedding ....and as there are two machines, maybe I would do my 'weekly wash' at the same time....going to the laundry room means going past the bins...so I might as well take the rubbish out too....and if I am emptying the bins , and putting in the bin-liners, it is just as easy to swish round the floor with the mop....

When I am ever going to learn!!!!

By midday I was all but collapsed in my big chair...wrapped in blankie and taking meds.

I need to learn to pace myself, rather than trying to do EVERYTHING when I get a 'good' hour or two!

Tink:....a salt grgle is good for a rough throat (just don't swallow it!)...and then warm milk and honey (swallow this!)

Wonkey-Teacup...hello!....you'll find this a lovely place to stop by!....and I have a lightweight vac too!

Candygirl....hope the thyroid meds work for you!
