Wow what a thread, Thanks Tink_04 for telling me about it.

Although you are all suffering it's very nice to read how you battle through it all. The very concept of OS :)

Elona, can you keep ringing them for the results? Or get your GP to email them, I've never heard of someone waiting so long. It must be worrying not knowing.

Sending hugs to you all with everything you are going through.

I currently am in extreme pain, can't sit down, can only stand or lie. I have a 10.4cm growth in my ovary which is crushing my bladder and pushing everything up in to my liver.
Have MRI scan Tuesday to see if it has attached to the bowel or not then an appointment on the 9th November to see how they are going to deal with it.

It is making normal life impossible, can't bend or stretch to cupboards or the floor, can't wear clothes. Living in the same two wollen jumper dresses all the time. Can't even wear under wear. Can't drive as you have to sit. Can't work as I have to drive.

But I'm determined that I am going to keep moving and going to keep battling on, even if it is done through tears.

Pollyanna I’m trying to do just that - it’s HT this week and I’m trying to think of relaxing indoor stuff for us to do that won’t kill me!! Think I’ll hunt some arts and craft stuff out & maybe have a Lego day too! It’s too much stress and my mum was so right - we had nothing fancy when I was growing up and I don’t need to go OTT with the kids! I think I do it as I always feel so guilty that I’m ill and have a disability but they don’t miss out on anything and don’t need half the stuff I kill myself over!

Soworried I’m glad you found us! We are a lovely bunch! And all get the struggles with just keeping the basic stuff in life working! I know your stressed about the house and stuff in it getting on tool of you - I usually walk round with a carrier bag or small bin and just throw stuff out that’s not needed or been forgotten - also the children each have small baskets (£1 shop) that I get them to do a sweep of the downstairs finding any bits of toys or things that don’t belong there and take them upstairs! I find stirs hard so when I have folded the washing and have a basket ready to go upstairs I fill it with anything else that needs to go up and DH takes it up for me and I work from that - I can’t be running up and down stairs all the time so it works for me. I also have a cleaner who comes once a fortnight - she is great and cleans rather than tidies up - she does my bathroom/kitchen & windows - all the big jobs I can’t manage & it’s the best money I spend! Most importantly be kind to yourself just doing a little when you can is better than none at all!

I’m still in bed! Having a cuppa while DH and the kids are downstairs I’m arranging a clock and collect shop (easier than taking 2 kids with me tomorrow) so that should see me this week - I might pop out after dinner as my contact lenses need picking up and DH need some screws and wall plugs for some shelves we bought ages ago that he said he would put up this weekend! Best get up and start making dinner tho! Just the 4 of us today so just got a chicken and some veg so not a stressful dinner at all!

Hope everyone is well and has a lovely weekend

Welcome Soworried to one of the kindest and supportive OS threads .
I'm glad our dear Tink pointed you in this direction . We seem to be a bit of a hidden area of OS but people do find us eventually .
You wont find judgement or the pull yourself together posters here . You'll see empathy , kindness and understanding and if someone has useful advice to offer they will .
There are many different stories here covering a wide range .
I'm pleased caronc has already mentioned look at what you have done rather than what remains to do on your thread .
Stuff can be overwhelming and reading of your struggles it will be very hard for you to cope .
Do you have any real life support and / or mobility aids ?
PTSD is a very hard thing to cope with even without challenging physical illness . My youngest daughter has had PTSD since her mid teens and no helpful mental health support to address the issues . I hope you have had that help as otherwise life is additionally difficult for you .
As you are a long time member of the forums you will probably have read of " eating the elephant " . One bite at a time may take a long time but each bite at clutter etc reduces the elephant until one day it's gone .
Apologies to the real life elephants of the world , figure of speech , you are all safe .

Well shopping list done - shopping orders for pick up tomorrow and meal plan sorted!! Washing drying and DW running!
Had our lovely Sunday dinner and got some chicken left which I’ll turn into a curry for tomorrow’s tea. Kids are fighting but what’s new there! A very productive Sunday so far. Think tonight is going to be an early night ready for the first day of the holidays - still haven’t managed to find something to do but think I might just let them get a load of toys out and play!

    Happy Sunday everyone!

Hello everyone, dry morning here, but now wet, windy and cold, OH has been cycling and had 2nd breakfast with "the gang" and had to push against the wind coming home, expect he will be having a zzzzzz in his chair later:D

Pollyanna - your bump on the head sounds nasty, I have done a similar thing on the breakfast bar here after delving in the cupboard below it, I hope that you managed a good sleep and are recovering.

Tink04 - I hope that you manage a chilled HT with the children, the second half of this term is usually so busy that I am sure a relaxing, but fun week will set them up well for it.

Soworried - Welcome, I agree with previous comments, this is a kind, supportive and helpful place to hang out, no judgement made. We are able to support others, but equally it is a place that we can rant, weep and take in the good vibes offered to us.

candygirl - rotten news about the cataracts, I hope that you feel able to take up your Mum's kind offer.

Cranky - Best wishes for the results of your monitoring session, hope the bulls eye clears up very soon.

LameWolf - I hope that you are enjoying having Meg to stay. Many years ago my first OH and I had a yellow labrador and when we bought our first house and after a while afforded fitted carpets we elected to have gold coloured ones:rotfl:

Elona- Gosh it is awful having to wait so long for results, I hope that you are able to kick someone into action soon.

Wednesday2000 - I hope that you are beginning to recover from the virus, there are some really nasty ones doing the rounds.

117Pauline - I hope that you are starting to feel good effects from your new medication now.

Welcome to the thread Soworried; and I'm sorry to hear of your predicament - I bet 9th Nov can't come quickly enough.

I recently bought some Primark pyjamas. I don't sleep in them but if you put them on when you get out of bed and someone subsequently knocks on the door you can get away with looking like you're wearing proper clothes :rotfl:
I always try to dress (with Mr LW's assistance of course), as I find it better psychologically - but in any case, I have a video entry phone (I can see the caller but they can't see me) that I had installed some years ago as I was scared to answer the door if I was here on my own. Anyone unexpected gets told politely to leave; and even the postman knows now that he has to leave things on the doorstep unless they need signing for.
Plus of course Mr LW is here all the time now, since he retired. ;)

Meg did very well on her walk this morning; in view of her age we're letting her set the pace. She managed to walk right up as far as the Petanque piste and back; she's been asleep most of the morning since, though. It's nearly time for her afternoon trundle, but that's a shorter walk, as per her owners' instructions.

We had a lovely birthday lunch with DSD and her hubby yesterday, a country pub between our respective towns, not gourmet food, but very tasty and nice atmosphere.

Tired today and shoulder a bit sore, but managing a few chores, just small tidying things and some overdue shredding of receipts and stuff. Very pleased as for the first time since my attempt at self destruction :rotfl: I have managed to dress myself in a tunic which goes over my head, not been able to hold my arm up this far before, so well pleased, may have to get OH to "skin a bunny" to get it off me though (any one else know this phrase from childhood, apologies to any vegetarians reading though - being part of the rural poor in the 1950's wild rabbit from our small holding was a vital part of our diet)

I'm not familiar with the phrase, MM but it sounds like precisely what I have to get Mr LW to do each evening. He also helps me put the stuff on in the mornings, in the interests of not taking half an hour or using up all the day's spoons. :A

I've done very little today; just seen to Meg's needs, put a loaf to do in the BM and made veggie toad-in-the-hole (cooking as I type; we shall have Marmite gravy, too). Meg's going to begrudge us every mouthful, as she's very food-oriented; her dinner-time is 18:00, so the plan is for us to eat ours before that. She also has her arthritis meds with her dinner, fortunately all I have to do is chuck the tablet in with the dinner and she'll eat it. :T

Polly I hope your bruising is beginning to subside. It's been wet and windy here yesterday and today but everything was already put away from the garden so nothing to blow away.

Soworried hello, pleased to "meet" you but sorry that you belong here. Good luck with your MRI scan. Do you/did you have problems before the growth was discovered? I had a polycystic ovary and endometriosis and after one of my miscarriages the person scanning me was convinced I was having an ectopic pregnancy. It took some time to convince her that the mess of scar tissue/adhesions that she could see was always there.....

Tink Just because some people think they have to [STRIKE]drag[/STRIKE] take their offspring somewhere different and/or expensive every day of the school holidays doesn't mean that we all have to. Mine enjoys staying home and playing with the [STRIKE]plastic tat[/STRIKE] treasures that he has accumulated. We usually make cakes of some description at some point during the week. The last time I made cakes with my friend's children I let them wash up. It took them 45 minutes and we had to put their tops in the tumble dryer but they had a lovely time and enjoyed the washing up just as much as the cake making.

maddie Our first labrador was black. Thirty four years on most of my clothes are still black and so is our current cat.

I've changed my own dressing yesterday and today thanks to the hospital giving me sterile dressing packs for the weekend. Best of all, thanks to having a bath before my dressing change yesterday I have discovered that the current dressing is waterproof so I no longer need to clingfilm my leg and use the shower, yay. Finally, although my leg still looks like something you'd paint on for halloween, the latest way of dressing the troublesome area is removing the necrosis. It's moving slowly and I'm thinking it's going to scar quite badly, but at least it's working so if the doctor at the hospital is happy to let it continue healing slowly I won't need surgery.
