Been for an eye test today. Have got bloody cataracts now
:( Has anyone got a gun? Apparently they can be caused by steroids n vit deficiencies. That explains it then.....sighs ......:(
Oh c r a p That's just not fair.
I've been given a dressing pack today and told I can change my own dressing on Saturday to save me a wait in the walk in clinic (I'm still going to the hospital because I did try the doctors but the nurse doesn't want to touch it and to be fair I'd rather she didn't either). Sometimes it only takes a little thing to give you a happy feeling.
I've been batch cooking today as we've run out of made by me freezer ready meals. I've had lots of sit downs as I've been cooking though. My hands and knees were very sore yesterday and they're still sore today. I took dihydrocodeine at bed time last night and tramadol at 1am but I didn't fall asleep until somewhere round 2am and I was up at 7am tpo make breakfast for the HT (school day) so early night for me tonight.
Happy Birthday for yesterday CurlyTop, I'm glad your cake was a good'un. Look after yourselves the rest of you!0 -
Afternoon everyone! Thanks for all the kind words and explaining what PA is - I had never heard of it but it sounds difficult to live with! I take a with B+ vitamin (along with many others) to try and keep me right.
I slept really well last night - the first in a long time! I think the sea air helped. Me and my mum had another chat today and I know what she is saying is right but I find it hard to slow down especially with the kids - and I always think if I slow down and stop I’ll just never manage to get going again.
Anyway enough moaning! Today is awful weather, really dark and raining. Picked the kids up and we were all soaked, luckily I had made beef casserole in the SC yesterday so they had some of that for tea and I’d made some jelly with some fruit in and a carton of custard I found so they both have nice full tummy’s! Not sure what me and DH will have later when we eat as is planned on fish but it’s not really the weather for it.
My meal plan and budget is going well, we start our new month tomorrow (early pay days) so will sort out the shopping and bills again for the next month. Things are going to be tight as decorating this month plus 3 birthdays and I haven’t even started in Xmas! I’m usually so much better prepared but I’m not making a huge affair out of it this year. This is the first year in our big house so I’m just going to enjoy that.
Hope everyone is feeling better and those with bugs get well soon xLiving the simple life0 -
Afternoon all!
Went with Mum to the nurse this morning...she had her B12 jab and her flu jab, one in each arm.....my flu jab is booked for the end of the month (although I may see the asthma nurse before then and she usually does the flu jab at the same time)
Came back home and all but fell into the chair...SO exhausted!
OCC boxes are now ready, and a friend will pick them up and take them to the drop-off centre...another tick in the to-do list!
I am eating my way through the freezer...hope to defrost on Monday and then start to batch cook and get it refilled again. (took fricks in tomato sauce out for this evening....-sort of like meatballs...had them with pasta)0 -
I wonder if there have been any studies on the effects of weather and atmospherics on chronic illness? I'd do a google search but my fog is so bad I can hardly see the screen.
Everyone sounds much worse than me so I feel a bit of a fraud. I have changed some of my medication so am suffering that hiatus between one medicine finishing and another couple starting to get into my system.
I am amazed at the fighting stance that so many of you show on a day to day basis. It's true what they say: take care, you don't know what battles they are facing.
So here's to us all, keeping on keeping on
Take care

Eugh!! Awful weather today! Think I’m going to go home and put my pjs on!
Pauline I’m sure there was a study with MS that shows the effects of a warmer climate compared to a cooler climate and the amount of vitiman D people get depending on where they live. Hope your feeling better and don’t feel like a fraud - you cope how you can and we are all in the same boat!Living the simple life0 -
I was too ill to go to the GP today so I had to get my husband to call up to cancel as my throat wasn't working. My throat was so sore it reminded me of having the mumps.:(
I could only get an appointment on Halloween so will have to go and get my tablets before then from reception.
I just had some soup and then a long hot shower as I was dripping with sweat. I feel a bit better now, thank gawd.0 -

Wednesday will your surgery not let your husband pick your meds up for you?
I've joined the "Bumps & Bruises Club" we seem to have here. Mine wasn't a fall this time though. Wednesday afternoon, I was getting something from the writing desk, pushed the flap up to shut it, and the key fell out on the floor. Bent down to pick up the key and......... you know what's coming, don't you? ..........the flap fell and clonked me a good'un on the head. I thought I was OK, but yesterday I was so dizzy and wobbly, and couldn't stand without assistance. Better today, thankfully - we have a doggie coming in tomorrow so I needed to get all my errands done today - get my morphine from the pharmacy, visit @ldi and Morries, also get a new battery for the dragon clock in the lounge.
I still have a headache, but it's nothing I can't handle; and thankfully Mr LW was immediately able to find the bruise cream for me when it happened. :AIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
LW
Hugs - maybe try a cold compress on your poor head.
Due an eye test soon to see how my cataracts have got on if you excuse the pun. DDs, SIL and BF are due in about an hour. I realised my eyesight was getting worse when cleaner pointed out grout marks she was removing and I could not make them out
I have set the table and made a huge pot of meatballs in tomato sauce and bought salad and garlic bread. Middle and younger dds have just phoned to say they are full of food but that the others will probably be starving so I will wait till they arrive to decide size of portions wanted and extra will do another day.
Hugs to all"This site is addictive!"
