I switched to that Eon deal today, hope I have done the right thing!
you have, cant complain about their customer service, tesco points which you receive just for paying your bill, and easy to navigate website.....just a pity as others have said that customer loyalty is non existent.
  • I've ditched E.On this morning in favour of Scottish Power (might regret that). I'm an Economy 7 user with quite low consumption.

The MSE/BG offer doesn't appear to offer 'leccy only users a deal. The E.On tariff was the Sept 2015 MSE collective. The saving over the current fix is £13 per year, but once reverted to the E.On standard tariff it's £159 cheaper.

Would have liked to stay with E.On, but sorry Malc you need to sharpen your pencils.
  • Aww Malc, thats just not on :( I want to stay with EOn :(

This is a bit of a new thing for us littlemissbossy. We're continually looking to develop tariffs and this particular one is aimed exclusively at new customers. This isn't to say we're not also exploring the best ways of looking after our existing customers. We're doing this all the time and continue to offer tariffs and rewards to both new and current customers through our website.

Totally accept you're not happy with today's news and can guarantee I'll be feeding this back to those at E.ON who make these decisions. Can't promise anything but I'll make sure those that need to know are aware of how you and others feel about this.

It’s a great shame that that E.ON has now joined the Dishonourable Club and is not making this available to existing E.ON customers, even via comparison sites.

(Although I can understand why E.ON has done it – and have even explained it myself in some recent postings on F&W's thread..)

It will, however, come as a particularly hard (and expensive) blow to the loyal E.ON-MSE September 2015 Collective Fix customers who let themselves get rolled on to E.ON’s Standard Variable Rate in the hope of getting a new one from E.ON. They’ll see it as a slap in the face (and the wallet).

Big question is, will this now become future policy on every collective fix by E.ON?

If so, it bodes ill for all E.ON customers when their own fixes end.

The good times seem to be over. I'm glad I fixed for two years, last July.

Be sure to feed all the anger and disgust expressed here back to the higher levels of E.ON, Malc.

But hey, guys! Let’s all go easy on Malc himself. It’s not his fault and it would be wrong to shoot the messenger. At least he had the courage and decency to come here (probably very embarrassed, personally) and admit it, whereas SSE just raises two fingers at its existing customers and tells them nothing when it does the same thing.

I can't wait for this new tariff announcement for us! What'll it be? I'll wait in eager anticipation.
  • I am currently on the Collective Fix December 2106, do I assume another Fix for December will be coming around?
  • That's all well and good Malc but what does EON expect existing customers to do - get put on to expensive standard rates in the hope EON will launch a new tariff which existing customers can move to? Of course most will not want to lose money waiting for EON. If EON have a plan then launch it now because collectives are ending now and people cant wait for EON.
  • Personally, i think it'a bit unfair on E.on.

There have been plenty of cheap tariffs available ( for loyal customers,) in the last 12 months.

It's up to the customer to take them, not wait until the offers have gone?
Fred - Where's your get up and go?

Barney - It just got up and went.

    Hi Malc

    Thanks for replying...as always.

It is disappointing that I won't be able to stay with EOn as the cheapest tariff will be approx £16 per month more. I have been hanging on hoping the Eon would be included in the "Switch" as I have had no problems, like the website and you and Helena are always there politely answering the same questions we all ask.

We are yelled at from all directions to switch, switch and switch but sometimes life gets in the way and I don't always have the time or inclination to be constantly monitoring everything.

It would have been nice not to have to bother switching supplier but hey ho its not the end of the world is it. :)
