yes those pots that cannot be opened are good. or a coffee jar empty with lots of tape around it so you can't jusy take the money out.

have a look on ebay sure you will find a bargain. don't forget cashback or nectar for ebay

Well there are savings accounts with pots, but I also have plenty of real life jars - this may be a combined effort so anything I sell in real life I can put in my jar-jar, and anything I sell on ebay or earn in the virtual realms I can put in online savings account IYSWIM? :o

As for sealing them... I have enough glue to put humpty dumpty back together so I shall find a way I'm sure!

Right! I'm in! £300 seems a lot but I'm going to do this!!! It will go towards nearly halving one of my 3 debts so it SHOULD be totally possible! I'm going to keep the money separate somehow... to be determined! :)

    Welcome to the thread, MrsTinks:)

Don't be daunted by the £300 target. I know it sounds a lot to newcomers (I was so dubious that I could make anything at all I opted for £5 a day for my first month, then went up to £7 a day for the 2nd and have been at £10 ever since). If you read all the advice on this thread and have a go at a few different things you'll surprise yourself how much you can make:j. Good Luck:beer:

I love your idea of a combination of pots. I do car boot sales where I end up weighed down with small change. I keep a careful record and add any profits to my total on here but keep it towards my day to day spending instead of having to get cash out of the ATM. Not all shop assistants appreciate being paid with a handful of loose change though:rotfl:. At the end of the month I transfer the equivalent amount from my current account to one of my online saving pots. I've got 6 of these set up at Nationwide. Works for me anyway:j

Well... probably not so much a newcomer... LOL

I may or may not have been somewhat of a regular on DFW ;) It's a long time ago now but I was actually one of the BGs  But for personal reasons I stepped away, I kind of lost my MSE mojo for a while and when a fellow BG passed away some years ago I walked away completely. I have always followed Martin and stayed in touch with some of the staff and I kind of popped back a little by accident and rekindled my love for all MSE last week. It felt very much like coming home

glad you got Internet sorted CBC.

I had to phone virgin other day. they told me there was a fault in my area I didn't know. the lady in India looked at my hub remotely and said my settings were wrong and she adjusted them. DH says we have faster speeds now. although I have to remind him when DS is playing Internet games I have my daily apps going it, it will be a bit slower.

I was promised a refund which I haven't got yet I need to chase that. virgin usually offer £5 a day.

Thanks. Well done on getting yours sorted remotely too:T. It made me wonder just what they do exactly but it worked. Mine wasn't the hub although I thought it must be after the flashing light display I was getting for hours. It was the actual broadband service itself so no wonder all my efforts with the hub connections and settings etc didn't fix anything:mad:. It's a pretty slow speed here but connection is normally reliable. The lady at BT said they'll phone me in a week to see if the remedy had been completely successful. Can't say fairer than that, I'm impressed:j. In my online account there's a log of my complaint and their response plus a diagram of the 'chain' from exchange to me that they are tracking. At least if I have to contact them again about the same problem (heaven forbid) I won't have to go through all the rigmarole again:j

  • £13 to add from amazon sales.

Once again, I need to get round to photographing and listing things on ebay. There always seems to be something else tucked in the cupboard that can be gotten rid of.
