    Just a quick question.
I requested my cash back last month but noticed it was paid on 1st Sept.
Can I add that to my total?
Still seeking out ways to earn more. Continuing to declutter in the hope of raising extra funds.

yes you can. I will be updating the first few posts with some ideas on how to make money later.

I have decided not to count the savings on my mortgage even though I've transfered it into my savings account.. because it is going to skew my totals for the months for the rest of the year. Next year I will count savings (so anything where I can squirrel the money into savings) and earnings (anything i earn online/phone/interest etc) seperately.

Is anyone finding ReceiptHog is having a bit of meltdown? It keeps telling me that my local butchers isn't worthy of coins despite having paid out every week for the last 10 months.. or it doesn't rad the date/total/name right. Grr

So far, I've cashed in 86p of loose change! I have other bits but typically the internettyness of banking is having a bit of strop and won't play ball.. so I can't actually tell if it's hit the bank yet. I'll update another time.

I actually haven't put any receipts on for a few weeks. I am thinking of ditching the app as takes too long to upload recipts and payout.

on Facebook a few of us have spoken about how the receipts come up as strange things compared to what is uploaded. you can email them or request receipt to be reviewed as not incorrect.

Sorry to keep asking questions but I haven't done this challenge before.
Can I count gifts and refunds to my total?
Also, what if you received an unexpected discount?
    TIA

when the challenge originally started by bat girl I think they included money saving discounts etc but as the challenge evolved over the years I say to people only count money that you would transfer to savings, debt, holiday, bill etc as I feel then you see the benefit of the making £10.

Aesop, whatever Monster Jam is I hope you're enjoying it and the travelling wasn't too tiring:)

:hello: to EllaTheHouseBunny and amy17brook. Welcome to the challenge. Well done, amy, on making a quick start with your moneymaking:T

nomi01. Yes, we count the money when we get it not when it was claimed. Even if it was 'earned' months ago just add it to the total of whichever month it is in when you actually get it:). Just remember not to add it twice though;)

The table top sale was OK, more people there than I expected but maybe they came in to shelter from the rain:rotfl:. I sold a lot of cheap items including 3 paperbacks for £1 type of thing so, although I didn't make a fortune, I got rid of loads of unwanted stuff. Made £61.20 after fees, which is better than usual for this type of low-key rural event, and had some fun, friendly banter with lots of really nice people. The organisers even came round to all the sellers with a lovely free cup of tea and muffin:j. All in all, a good morning:)

sounds like tabletop was a success CBC.

how lovely free tea and muffin. a way to encourage repeat sellers :j
we were offered free rain macs and sweets by Cardiff railway station staff. ..... in their wisdom of crowd control we were made to wait outside in the rain for 20 mins. we weren't allowed into the station as our train hadn't arrived......

got inside 2 coppers and not a soul on the platforms.....

needless to say I now have to go buy a new pair of shoes.....

monster jam are monster trucks from America with massive wheels. DS loves them and this is the first time we have seen them advertised as coming to uk.

they do trick riding like wheelies and donuts and back flips. pretty amazing when you see the size of the trucks. they had these mad motorcyclists to entertain us in the break. the guys scared the life out of me. one came right off his motorbike in mid air!!!

it was great a very long day with travelling but we were home by 10pm with no food :( I didn't judge that well. so beans on toast and tea all round.
  • I'd like to stick at £5 a month please. Dissertation was done (and I got 65% - so happy with that as I'm pretty terrible at writing!) in August but I don't feel like I'm caught up enough yet to really commit to the money making as much as I'd like.

Thanks Aesop for running the thread, and thanks to everyone for the support and motivation :)

That's a first isn't it  well done. I got 58% in mine when I did it and that was by some miracle xx

    Thanks Aesop.
I am going to count it as it was refunded back to c.F. so counts towards my debt.
The gift was money to pay for my annual registration. Can't work without it.
Not sure if to include it.
Looking forward to the update of money saving tips.

I have been to monsterjam, but it was a few years ago now. Gravedigger was there, the kids loved it.

    Thanks for everyone's help.
