We both do it together so it makes it easier as the balance of the joint a/c is the true balance. If I was just doing it for my personal expenses/pocket money then I would just set up my a/c and then treat the money I put into the joint a/c as an expense/payment, e.g. £1000 per month outgoing and then forget about it.
It's great if you only have one a/c but still want to do an envelope system.

I think if I did it it would be for my personal money plus joint account as I manage all of our household funds & expensesDF as at 30/12/16

Worked about 60 hours in the last 3 days and I still have 24 hours to go before a day off.
Injured and exhausted. Local road home closed for a week tripling my journey time.
I'll be off grid until I (a) recover and (b) have had some quality time with my wife who probably thinks I've left home having not seen me for the best part of a month.
Ally, for heavens sake get your injury looked at and take it steady. Why do you have to work such silly hours? It is not good for your mental or physical health0 -
Morning!
Ok so yesterday turned out to be busier than I thought.
After picking up an extra client this morning, with renewed determination today I will -
1) Write and send the two emails to previous payday loans and update my records
2) figure out uploading the receipts to shop n scan
3) make my signature
4) do a budget/meal plan for this week and see how little I can spend
Other than catching up on the ironing, going for a short run and doing a couple of tip runs, I think that will do me!
Have a good day everyone!0 -
Morning all :hello:
Ally hope you get some down time soon. Take care of yourself
My Saturday will look like this:
Request payment of £3.64 from £co
Clean out fridge, we had a leak so it made sense after we had resolved that. Must order new part and put another part I had on fleabay
Message two buyers who should be collecting things this weekend
Move 2 boxes of labelled things to garage for sale
Pay dancing subs from pot
List a few more things on fleabay/selling pages, did 3 yesterday and 1 sold :T
Meals from stores
Meal plan for week - still not done this
Think that's about all, have a good day. PF.0 -
Morning all :coffee:
Welcome back Ziggy - pleased you enjoyed your hols.
And congrats on the win Bagpuss.
Ally, I know you're off radar so probably won't see this but please look after yourself.
Still no luck on the doctor's appointment front, but I did do a little bit of self diagnosis yesterday and suspect I may be anaemic. One of my good friends once taught me a little trick of checking in the eyes and I'm looking a bit pale there. So I'll see what I can do about getting some sort of supplement whilst I'm waiting to get onto the docs.crazy_cat_lady wrote: »

Hello Frugal Friends,
Not bad on the MSE front so far:
*Groceries came in at £19 which means the rest of this week's food budget can go in the 'holiday cash bag' for food while we're camping.
*Free newspaper & coffees at Waitrose.
*Another free coffee at favourite local indie shop - a treat for customers on their mailing list.
*Stocked up medicine box with own-label versions of anti-histamines, etc. Quite a saving on buying brands.
*DVLA sent a cheque to refund outstanding little bit of road tax on the car we recently sold. Paid it into bank & added the cash to holiday cash bag.
*Picked runner beans & tomatoes.
*Bake a tin of biscuits to take with us on camping trip.
*Feed courgettes, squash, chillies, cukes, beans & sweetcorn. Shan't waste food on tomatoes.....they're a good size, just picking them as they ripen.
*2 baths from 1 lot of hot water.
*Did a Ugov survey.
*Make packed lunch for tomorrow to avoid buying astronomically-priced sarnies while we are out.
Ok, must get busy prepping those tomatoes & beans for the freezer & baking my biscuits.
Nice to see you back Friend Ziggy,
Cheers all,
