My company is shutting down its UK operations and moving to Europe. We're based in central London. My friend's companies are also shutting now and moving to Europe.

I interviewed with Skype in Microsoft last month and today there was this in the BBC. Microsoft shutting down SKype and moving to Europe.

I mean... does anyone care? Things are unraveling and the UK hasn't even started the process.
    ...

    The voting figures are clear.

Many of the Brexit voters do *not* care about you our your friend, or indeed other London voters.

And, if you're honest, you don't care about the Brexit voters in South Yorkshire or NE or East of England.

The vote reflected a divided outlook on UK. Maybe now we should consider this as an issue.

    Sorry to hear that, mate.

Maybe an opportunity for you to make the move to Europe also, and leave the sinking ship?

Fallout from the Brexit vote is already "silently killing" Britain's technology sector.

You quote a man who makes his money by organising buy outs of UK companies by US Corporations.

Will the Remainers ever accept that there are some things more important than economic growth?
Would they exchange our democracy for a dictatorship if it brought more economic growth?
Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.

The UK tech/software industry does not have a good reputation for protecting jobs in this country.

Every time technology has made it possible to move more jobs to cheaper locations, companies have taken the cost savings opportunities.

Brexit would not have stopped this. Many thousands of Indian IT people now rely on selling their skills to UK firms. It won't stop.

Has nothing to do with protecting jobs. Those that finance start ups are looking for a return on their money. An exit route. That's the UK mindset, make a profit and move on. Until there's a switch culturally (i.e. like Germany) to the long term. We'll simply sell off the jewels. Of which there's fewer and fewer not in foreign ownership.

No Brexiteer should be ashamed because they voted for what they wanted to happen.

If any group should be ashamed it's the people who wanted to remain but were too lazy to go & vote. That's who bitter Remainers should be targetting their ire at.

My favourite group were the ones who wanted to vote Remain, but voted Leave as a protest vote because they thought Remain would win and their puny little vote didn't really matter:rotfl:

We are actually busier than ever and taken on extra staff ( European haulage).

People should not feel guilty as to how they voted. Most will have tried to make the best decision they could at the time.

I don't get this repentant theme, perhaps they will start selling sack cloth and ashes kits.

If you don't vote you are castigated. So people turn out to vote and what do we do? Castigate a large number of them. :(

If you don't believe in referendums, then don't vote for a party offering a major referendum ! :rotfl:

I don't know if this bugs other folk, but I find it a bit pathetic when people that own small importers whinge about import price rises, when I know for sure there are perfectly good and affordable UK manufacturers / growers one can source from.

Hugh Fernley Whittingstall is forever bemoaning all the wonderful British fruit that rots on the tree, on account of supermarkets importing perfect looking poly tunnel stuff. About time British business started sourcing more from Britain.

I agree - the local stuff tastes better than the mass-produced imported stuff.
