Not sure that we will ever be great (or ever were great) but I also believe in this country. But wrapping yourself in a Union Flag and saying that Brexit is great is a different matter.
The Brexit vote will not make Britain great again. It will damage our influence in an interconnected world. As I said before an act of Bravado for which we will later pay a price.Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.0 -
That will become apparent in the coming years as the experts are proven correct.
If we accept that the views of these experts is correct and will come to pass, then what do you think we should do?
Sit and wait for it to happen or proactively develop new strategies to avoid or mitigate?
Of course the standard remoaners response is to sit nodding in a corner rambling to oneself, but you seem like a sensible chap, so what do you think we should do to make Brexit work?
(You can't say don't Brexit)0 -

I think it depends on what we're talking about. The guff about the stock market not opening the next morning after the vote, the emergency budget and the £ falling 20% didn't happen.
Similarly if I worked in the Treasury I would be ashamed to put my name to that 'households will be £4,300 worse off' figure.
Will GDP be a bit lower than if we were members? I think in the short term it probably will be, maybe even a short technical recession, but unfortunately there's no way of proving either way long term.“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. The Brexit vote will not make Britain great again.
As far as I am aware the 'Great' originated from being distinguished from Brittany in France and also from the Greeks distinguishing us from Ireland, it would take either Brittany or Ireland to somehow end up having a larger land mass than mainland Britain for us to cease being 'Great' Britain.Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -
Apparently tourism has jumped.0

Could you please share with us what "again" means? Which period to you believe we were a greater nation than now? Which period are you hoping to emulate by becoming great "again"?
When how we voted in this country was enacted by politicians based in this country who got turfed out if they stuffed up would be a start IMO.0 -

Are you feeling alright? You've actually said something quite sensible."Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance" - Confucius0 -

So, care to drop the politic speak and tell us an exact era or time period you think was best and when Britain was great, that we should aspire to achieve "again"?0 -

Please, be specific. We've had enough of politicians and their hand waving misdirection vague mumblings. Which period was this in that we should try to emulate "again"?0
